Hey, congrats to MP for making it on Engadget!!
Why so many models? Because ASUS has zero conviction on which model people really want.
Yeah, same company. Based in Taipei, i believe...
to much time photoshopping and not enough creative writing...
Insert Mold Roller? Did MSI use babelfish to come up with that? IMR = Internal Mold Release. Not sure if I would buy a product from a company that doesn't even know the basic tooling lingo...
YEah, as a Cloudbook owner too, i'd say that Gos was just a terrible experience. Don't get me wrong, it's great that Linux got such great attention with these SFF laptops but it just wasn't any good. If you look through the code, their "distro" (if you want to call it that) was a completely hacked up version of Ubuntu so in a way, it was custom made for Everex. Smart choice with the XP.
Attention ignorant engadget writers. Why all the hate? Yeah, it's kinda ug but $200 ain't bad.
I don't get it. If the everex unit is the same VIA CPU, same price, has twice the memory, vista and from a more reputable company, why would anyone buy this one? :S
I guess the everx computer has 1GB of memory and not just 512. Not bad...
Pretty ballsy for anyone to dis MS for Openoffice. Gotta like that...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
