The story is true. The link to flickr is Stuart Butterfields flickr page. Stuart works in the same building as the exploding laptop, and is also the co-founder of Flickr. I don't think anyone is lying here.

i wouldn't buy it purely based on their poor customer service and lack of quality control. My new Aurora 7500 has been in their shop for 2 weeks now, without a single explanation as to why it's taking so long.
