I own the 705 Wi-Fi; besides a battery replacement, the machine works great.
6 hours of video life, 30 hours audio.
I will definitely consider replacing my 705 with this new one, I just want Archos to go with larger HDD space. 160 GB doesn't cut it. Give me 320 and 500.
I'm going with the idea that Nintendo is waiting for a reasonably priced Blu-Ray/SSD/DirectX11 market to come into play to bring about a reason for a strong upgrade cycle.
@ Basic: When looking at a basket of fruit you compare:
Apples and Oranges: Function - supply sustenance. HDDs and SSDs: Function - preserve data in a powered down state.
Of course consumers would find it necessary to compare the technologies. Apples and Oranges are different genetically, and so are SSDs and HDDs, but their function is the same, hence the comparison.
Congrats to the USF engineering team that worked on this... For those who don't live in Tampa, USF has a huge and well funded research park located @ http://www.usfresearchpark.com/
Also, big props to USF for moving up to a tier 3 school.
Oh, and I didn't attend USF, I'm a UCONN fan all the way.
Cheap 120 Hz, 5000:1 Contrast, LCD TVs coming to a Wal-Mart near you in 2010! YES!!
What will be the new "must buy" feature at that point? 120hz is pointless if my camcorder can't even do >30 Hz.
You think Madden will ever reach 120 Hz? I thought PS3 was now on a 15 year product life cycle, Cell can't do 1080P at 120 Hz, at least, that what I reckon future articles will say...
Johnny Lee for President... Johnny Lee and Johnny 5, a man and a robot, both bringing about life advancements.
Think about a High def version of this with remote tooling via robots, an engineer could be in one room, while a robot is in a radioactive bunker mimicking his inputs to re-seal a turned over radioactive isotope.
This article assumes people will use the Space elevator, that doesn't make sense, it's an elevator for equipment, people don't want to be sitting on a gradually rising elevator for a week inside oxygen capsules which add weight to the elevator, it should only be used for hardware.
This is different than the hangar 18, and serves a different purpose. This is rack-mountable people(as in server room), and is perfect for establishments like Hooters, Winghouse, and the home enthusiast. It can output via HDMI etc to multiple rooms and probably across LAN as well, I hope it can pull a slingbox also for streaming your tivo across the net. That would be one sweet package...
Does anyone know if Alienware has a developer department who can code something like that?
"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
