Well until Apple gets the serious business apps no business is going to rely on them. Plus what business would rely on only one hardware vendor.

In the large architectural firm I work at all our product designers use autocad which is not even available on the Mac. I'd venture to say the Mac itself is designed using autocad.

tom barta you are deluding yourself if you think only "a nasty little Windows-only spreadsheet program that some geek kludged in Visual Basic " is all businesses need on the PC.

Wke up folks Mac hasn't made any ground because it lacks the business critical apps.
Ahhh...

a right click button at last...

gotta train them mac users for their ultimate migration to Vista.
;>
That is - FAR - better looking than the mac mini which looks like tupperware IMO.

I'd like to buy one once Vista ships in January !!!

Thanks for the explanation mace. So when I go on holiday I just leave my tv at home On all the time and I can watch it.

Can I change channels with slingbox?

Looks like a candy bar to me, or maybe a gold ingot... I don't fully understand what it does either.
I like the way this looks and I just signed up for URGE a few days ago. Media Player 11 is really excellent.

Too bad I just bought a 1G t10 at best buy (for 179) else I'd make the move on this...

nice to see a well thought out package. lets hope this can save the near bankrupt iRiver company.

If I ever came across an iPod with this type of lock I'd have no choice but to smash it up with a rock or other such hard object.

The pleasure I'd get from seeing the owners face on their return would be immense.

This is all very, very good news....

Kudos to SanDisk for showing some initiative in the battle against this evil giant Apple Corp.

Other manufacturers take note and launch similar initiatives.

We must wake the iPod buying masses and clear their mass consciousness.

Repeat after me: iPod must Die... iPod Must Die...

I have long been distrustful of the evil Apple control franshise. Steve Jobs is enlisting and encouraging an army of mindless, powerless iDroids. He should be stopped at all costs.

Spread the word... http://www.iDont.com is freedom... iDont.com is life...

w00t!!! w00t!!!

the end of iPod just got one step closer!!! other players need to unite and drop the sleeping giant evil apple!!!

w00t!!! w00t!!!
Good for Dell, my processor loyalty is 0%.

Whatever is the cheapest and gets the job done is what i am buying. The only reason I have stuck to intel is because of the cool names they give their processors. AMD is so unimaginative!

It as if I care who makes the HD in the unit...

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
