There was a great commentary on this very subject (albeit, without the mention of sex) in an episode of Tiny Toon Adventures. The Warner Bros. (and sister!) sang a song called "The Same Old Heroine." It was a brilliant and biting slam on Disney's tired old princess genre.
School, yeah... that's where I'll use all this stuff.
Thanks for finding that out for me before I upgraded. I'm waiting on the 10.6.X patch that makes FrontRow work on my Mini as well as it does in 10.5. In the meantime, I'm sticking with Leopard the First. At least I only paid $30 for the new OS.
Fah! I defeated Akinator with Torgo from Manos, The Hands of Fate. If you don't know Torgo you are NOTHING!
#11. Effective immediately, all men must be clean-shaven and keep their hair neatly trimmed and cut above the neck. This goes for Thor, Dr. Strange, Wolverine, Tony Stark, Mandarin, Kraven, Wendigo, Ka-Zar, Diablo, Puck, Sasquatch, Batroc, Sabretooth, Nightcrawler, Beast, etc. See Prince Namor, circa 1940, for acceptable appearance guidelines.
When Michael Eisner was running Disney, one of the Weinsteins brought him the recently-acquired rights to The Lord Of The Rings trilogy in order that Miramax might produce it. Eisner passed on it, much to Weinstein's dismay. New Line/WB got it instead.

Granted, hindsight is 20/20. But If Disney had the power to make their subsidiary, Miramax, pass on what became one of the highest-grossing trilogies of all time, and Disney is holding the reins to all of Marvel, then they can definitely do some serious damage to Marvel.
Since I DIDN'T see Transformers 2 but DID manage to catch Moon, District 9, Trick 'R Treat and The Hurt Locker in the same month, I have to give this summer an A. It's hard to beat any summer that featured Dark Knight and Iron Man but this was a surprisingly good follow-up.
Thank you, Elisabeth, for not putting a chirpy spin on this like a lot of other outlets. I'm none too optimistic about the consequences of this deal.

You also nailed my biggest fear: direct-to-DVD garbage. This seems to be Disney's chief strategy for all it's properties ('cept Pixar... for now). My next biggest fear will be the clash between Disney's large "family-oriented" crowd and the increasingly more mature world of Marvel comics and movies.
"the whole vampire phenomenon was started by twilight"

Ashey, have you ever heard of a man named Bram Stoker? See, Bram (I know, it's a TOTALLY weird name but bear with me here) wrote a novel (that's a long, fictional story) about a character named Dracula back in 1897 (OMG! That's like 112 years ago!!!)

Popular fictional accounts of vampires actually date back to at least 1819 (see The Vampyre by John Polidori) but I think it's safe to say that Dracula pretty much kicked off the whole "vampire phenomenon" what with having a 108-year headstart on Twilight.

In closing Ashey, I just want to say one word: Libraries. They're (a contraction meaning "they are" as opposed to "there," indicating a location or place) a great, free place to read books. Like "Dracula" or the dictionary. I can't recommend them enough!
A friend sent me this over the weekend. Once again, Austin rules.

"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
