Actually TomTom One devices DO NOT have "text-to-speech", the instructions they give are actually OGG files, but they're extremely small, a voice package is only about 600k on a 1GB storage unit (6 units of 1,024,000 units for you non tech guys).
I'm no expert of car wiring, but I would assume that in order to install this device, you'd have to hotwire this to the starter, meaning you've probably added two wires that once the circuit is complete, the car starts. This would be controller by the chip in the finger scanner.

So what happens when I pry up this device with a flat head screwdriver and short the wires? I'll put $20 on the car starting.
All consoles have been using external power bricks and will continue to do so because it makes the console significantly smaller. Get use to it, that's just the way it is.
Microsoft has already done something about the noisey DVD drives (which many people thought was fan noise). All the current/new Xbox 360s use a newer quieter DVD drive.

I bought my 360 back in Dec 2006 so I lucked out by a couple months, yea I hate the noise too but once a game starts, I keep the speakers loud enough not to notice.
The software can never allow somebody to remotely control payout or win ratios. Every state has a gaming commission and they MUST receive the source code to digital gaming systems in order to validate it's fairness.

While the win ratio is configurable outside the source code, any changing of this value would be fully illegal, even Native American casinos have to answer to a gaming commission.
Darn, somebody beat me to the Tron comment!
Is this some kind of joke, $85 for 128 of storage. That's 2 albums, maybe 3 if you compress heavily. 1.2" video, even your cell phone is (slightly) better than that. 6hrs battery life?! 12hrs (iow a full day) worth of power is the minimum.

Out of 5 stars, I give this a 0. If you want a good tiny player get a MobiBlu, it may not have video but it's smaller than this tiny POS.
@Kim Laughton: common sense 101 here, if something actually helps it's a good idea but this system is flawed for all kinds of obvous reasons, but mostly importantly because of "soap and water" !!!!

I don't want to pat them on the back for trying, I want to kick them in the pants because of the MASSIVE amount of my tax money which is going to be waste on implimenting a system that will never catch a single "bomber".

False security is worse that no security at all, even if it makes you "feel better".
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
