As soon as the prices dip below retail's then maybe it'll overtake it. Right now, retail is still cheaper and you get to resell later on.
Jeeze, engadget, you have to bash Microsoft for offering extras? It must be very frustrating to the Ultimate team that they get criticized for offering some extras. What could be done?
By the way, there were two extras, two additional sound schemes and the DreamScene pack.

Also, there was also an extra in the form of a discount on EVGA 8800GT series graphics cards including Crysis.
I don't understand why writers and readers at Joystiq don't entertain the idea that videogames were somehow a catalyst to this action. Killing and performing various criminal activities in the most heinous way possible desensitizes people to violence. Yes, this person was obviously psychotic to have commited such a crime, but it doesn't mean that the videogames he may have played didn't play some role in either stimulating or acclimating him to the murder he committed.
Yeah, this screen is glossy. I saw some shots with an obvious mirror-like reflection of the photographer. I'm thinking of exchanging my FHD2400 for the 2493HM once it's available in my area.
I have a TN panel. Horizontal viewing angles are no issue, but vertical angles are, I'll admit. Worst on dark screens. I'm using a Gateway FHD2400. However, Samsung is higher quality so it'll be interesting to check it out to see if this is a new panel they are using.
Sit with proper posture and maybe that won't be such a problem. It's TN to keep prices down and respone times fast.
Can't wait to try this one. By the way, that contrast ratio is a dynamic contrast ratio. The 10,000:1 and 3,000:1 are dynamic. Both panels 1,000:1 contrast ratios.
Oh, wait, sorry, I get it, you're addressing those EGM editors.
Does that rhetorical question make sense? It's been a long day.
Cheaper players, DVD/HD DVD Combo discs, ability to copy...wow, it's so great Blu-Ray won right? I look forward to at least getting bargain-bin deals on HD DVD movies and I'll continue to buy myself Blu-Rays.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
