This would be a tight laptop, way overpriced but when I win... no problemo!
It would be cool to see if it live ups to the hype.
Been hearing these are the best BT headsets, now I can find out!
These "first" guys are idiots & trolls, give me this game so I can take my axe to them in Brutal Legend!
@gunther
There have actually been two accounts of people mucking with other others jail-broken iPhones. One in the Netherlands where the guys replaced people's lock screens with his "ad" to tell them how to fix their security and the other in Australia where what is being called an "iPhone worm" made it's rounds vandalizing, again, jail-broken units replacing their wallpaper and then searching for other iPhones in the area to continue on. While not truly malicious and devastating, they are both an annoyance at best but also a sign of things to come. Once the more malicious people come along that really want to f* people up, well... things could get bad for the jail-broken community. On the other hand, this opens up a new field AV companies looking to market on a new platform. I think it would be a simple matter to avoid this is Cydia and The Rock disabled SSH by default and have it set to only turn on when physically requested by the user. I toggle mine off when not in use, but a re-boot kicks it back to active status and if I forget... well, my bad.

So you see, not theory any more but actual practice. Again, this is only the jail-break community but give the wily hackers that don't want to take the easy route through an unlocked door a little while and you will see more, I don't care what the platform.
You're right, even more so rampant in the Apple App Store. Apple has been touting how much more secure/reliable they are than M$ and how there aren't any viruses on their system , et al. Whatdaya know, once you actually become popular to more than a small portion of the global user-base you become a target. The iPhone has been hit from day one, first cracking apps & releasing all constraints put on it, now there's a small virus or two, albeit only for the jailbroken ones. Just wait and see if it ever spreads to untainted ones.

The problem with trying to secure anything digital is just that, you can't. Once it's released to the wild it all boils down to bits, you can try but all you do is breed a more determined hacker/cracker. At least they try to fix things, but I'd say the majority of people using the WM platform & iPhone don't delve into the grey area and the people that do probably wouldn't have bought the app anyway. Vicious cycle!
Yup, just confirmed from another source less than 15 minutes ago. Don't know if I could hold out until December!

Verizon Wireless' PR agency recently revealed the Motorola Droid release date, and the countdown to a proper announcement has been shortened down.

According to Gearlog's Sascha Segan, Verizon Wireless is set out to make a proper announcement of the Motorola Droid on Wednesday October 28. Furthermore, after receiving a postcard from the carrier's PR agency, Segan believes the specific Motorola Droid release date will be Monday November 9.

Yup, that's pretty much going to be the case at the venue too. I've been to SuperDeluxe before and it's 80% foreigners and 20% local flavor. Another thing to consider regarding this venue is that it's pretty darn small too, might be able to fit 125-150 people and even then it would be cramped. Good thing about this for attendees... greater chance of winning chotckies!

If I was still in the area, I'd definitely go... though I'd make a reservation to ensure I get in.
REALLY?! All he did was bring together a bunch of mods done by many of the modders in the PSP community and implement them on one PSP. I'll give him props for getting the extra nub, but the USB, camera and emulators is old hat for people hard-modding their systems. Just do a simple Internet search for each of the things he's done and you'll find instructions on a number of sites.

I do have to offer further props that he was able to get enough publicity to attract Engadget's hairy eye. $ony should take heed of what the modders (hardware & software alike) and embrace them instead of turning a deaf ear. If they would have followed the PSP2 render that's been floating around forever and not tried to cut out the middle-man; i.e., retailers selling physical copies of PSP software, the PSP-Go might have hit a little harder than it did. Who thought SHRINKING the game screen was a good idea?! Maybe if they would've threw in an OLED, you could overlook the shrinkage...
If you've only been relying on Norton, then you probably need to download an AV program with a proven track record for the best detection. I used McAfee for a long time & switched to Norton when it was offered free from my company... too bad neither were catching all the malware that was floating around out there, esp. on a .edu domain.

I got tired of this crap so did tracked down and read several third-party reviews that put things in black and white with unbiased tests. Norton & McAfee scored way down with Panda, Avast & Avira up at the top. The shootout is performed several times a year to keep up with changing engines & updates. IMO in this case free is far and above better than any software subscription... sorry Norton, you just don't measure up.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
