You'll never find a Samsung LCD panel inside a Sony "branded" LCD either.

All Sony stuff is 100% Sony guts inside.. hard disk, memory, keyboard, touchpad and graphics too!

I'm being overly sarcastic btw. :)

Just because it says Sony outside doesn't mean it's all Sony inside. Maybe Sony just has higher standards for the plastics they use.
"...built-in accelerated graphics to drive a 23-inch Apple Cinema Display..."

How far can apple's marketing go at milking their fanbase? How about an etched name or node ID plate for a bargain $199? $25 for 2 lines or $49 for 3 lines of text with choice of font? $9.99 to have it preattached?
Ever tried Av or M ? That's all I use.. compact camera or not :)
SK has all of the cool and exclusive phones here in korea. I'm using ktf instead but always gawk at the sky phones for their features. This would be a good thing for america.. I wouldn't mind SK budging into my home turf (canada) and shake up the grounds there.. especially rogers.
Look closely at the picture on the bottom left button.. we'll need a full review of it before really judging (although I wouldn't hold my breath for anything revolutionary).

Anyway, run of the mill compact cameras would not have the functions as indicated under that bottom left button... for those that know how to use it, it's handy to have that power fit in your pocket. :)
@Kevin: those "morons" need their 15 minutes of happiness.. i'm sure they've made you quite happy too :)
check out cowon... in their history, they used to have slightly better sound quality than iriver... both are the top 2 players in korea.. cowon seems a bit more friendly with flac if that's your cup of tea..

i'm still using my oldschool iriver ifp-799.. it's smaller than the cord windup thing for my sennheiser hd202 headphones but i love the sound despite the appearance.. my gf's cowon iaudio5, the sound quality is a notch better..

if you can check out the mp3 players most people have in korea, not many have ipods or want them :) the knock off (china) brands and various korean brands (iriver, cowon, mpio, lg, samsung... and more that dont get exported i think) have it all.. either for less or a larger heap of features.. and if you think 24hrs of battery life is good (as the article says), there are players here with over 100hrs ;)

some of the mp3 players (not ipod) also support usb otg.. and i've played with the cowon iaudio x5 which also has a dual pane file browser for copying files.. so much out there fanboys dont know about.. of course not all care.. but there are some who do

one other note, i'm not aware of sandisks supporting asian languages (or anything else).. at least the ones sold in america.. other brands (ipod included) support them all out of the box..
Uhm, no... it's Korea...

Whenever you see the letters DMB that should automatically imply that. people are watching tv everywhere and on everything... subways, waiting for the bus.. i've even seen one taxi driver watching/sharing some drama with the passangers... and i guess they watch tv when they're bored and waiting for someone to hop into the cab

China only makes stuff.. (knockoffs rather).. a lot of the innnovation happens here (Korea), Japan or Taiwan
i give credit where it's due.. the iphone has its merits but apple has a long history of doing a kickass job on version 2.0... i could afford the iphone but i would rather put that money towards a nice shiny new dslr camera, keep it banked for the kids or turbo kit for the [grocery getter] car

as for using something similar in 2 years, we'll see... the iphone just blended all of the "cool" features in other devices into one... many touchscreen mp3 players exist and i see people with them on the subway.. too many people watching tv on their phones.. the iphone is cool but it lacks all of the things that would make me want to jump for it.. that iphone will have far from a monopoly until they price it around $100 for joe average, mom and pop and the hype is over and it's just as common as any nokia, samsung or cyon/lg phone

i'm so glad to have left canada.. the phones in korea are so much cheaper, beautiful and feature packed.. sorta like how cars are tuned down or stripped before exported... canada/usa really loves to milk their customers good

anyways it's just a product (as you said) get over it :)
As for follow your finger movements, I wonder if it will be like the good old palms and wince with the fake "ink" when you write something in the input area as visual feedback..

I have absolutely no interest in the iphone, especially being in korea.. however about the home directory idea... to take that a step further it would be nice to use the iphone as a supertouchpad as I prefer touchpads over mice, balls, etc anyday... i enjoy near silence from tapping the pad instead of clicking, horizontal/vertical scrolling in silence without clicking...

Some people here are interested in the iphone but not many.. only hype about the beauty and it's a foreign product... but it's a big letdown otherwise.. as a side note, it's interesting how not a lot of people want a prada or make a big deal about it :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
