Even further, with a price point of above $800, Apple could pick up as much as 20% of PC users and 41% of current mac users. Given the price history of the iphone, I would bet they would start at above $800, since they would be unable to meet a great demand anyway and then start lowering the price gradually to expand their market share.
I hope the specs are more impressive that the last version (I heard somewhere that this thing would not have a SD card slot). And I really hope that the next version is considerably cheaper than the old one. Otherwise, I will be passing on it again.

If it is good enough to work with an internet connection, the wireless network should more than suffice...thinking that wireless networking is slower than an internet connection, now, that is ridiculous.

Not in Argentina... The customs taxes double the US price of the machine, so this is quite a deal there, actually.
I hope I win.
"It is good to see that their are still a few people that will take a stand for THEIR rights! You go Taxi Drivers, because nobody else will do it for you!"

The reason they don't want to accept the GPS units is because it will infringe on their right to rip you off. Get on any NY City cab and the first question they ask you is "how do I get there?" If you don't know the answer to that question, they will take you for a ride. The reason they don't want GPS units is because they make this sort difficult and, in case they pull it of, it can be proven.

Crooks!
I have been wanting to get one of these for a while, but they are too expensive. Hopefully this will do the trick.
I never win ANYTHING. It would not be bad to start with the best Cellphone out there.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
