Oct 6th 2008 7:13AM Can someone please confirm whats actually going on with this thing, cus as far as i new, somthing went wrong with it during initial testing, one of the MASSIVE electro-magnets wasnt quite working, so their having to warm the section its in and replace it... Hence this statement http://www.lhc.ac.uk/latest-news.html saying it wont actually be turned back on till 2009...
The only test they have actually performed so far has been the test of throwing a particle around the coil in one direction and then the other, no actual collision (aka the black hole making end of the world sceanrio) has taken place yet, and wont till Spring 2009 !
