NVIDIA and friends working on alternate USB 3.0 spec, SiS joins in, Intel uninvited from everybody's birthday parties {Engadget}
Jun 15th 2008 11:50AM I have a great idea. How about we develop a connector which is faster than either eSATA or FireWire, and this connector is backwards compatible with 99% of all relatively modern computer peripherals (within the last 10 years)?
Guess what, it's USB 3.0. So long as these idiots (intel/nvid) don't mess it up, say bye-bye to eSATA or FW.
NVIDIA and friends working on alternate USB 3.0 spec, SiS joins in, Intel uninvited from everybody's birthday parties {Engadget}
Jun 15th 2008 11:47AM Except that USB 3.0 comes out at 4.8 Gbps, while your FW3200 only has exactly that, 3.2 Gbps.
With USB 3.0, FireWire becomes useless. It'll lose its bread and butter (FW won't be the fastest connector)

VoodooPC website goes up in smoke... and mystery {Engadget}
Jun 5th 2008 2:38PM LOL It's incredible how engadget has entirely missed the point here. No, this isn't the death of Voodoo, but rather just hype for the upcoming laptops they'll be releasing next week, as has already been hinted at by Voodoo execs.
Please try again

Apr 29th 2008 8:47AM That just shows how skeptical we've all become in a year of waiting. "I won't believe this until Ted Rogers knocks on my door and gives me a golden-cased iPhone on a platter"
Believe me, when Ted says it (which he did, in this case -- he personally made the statement), it gets done.

Apr 23rd 2008 10:39PM I'm surprised everyone's so, well, surprised, about this. South Koreans are hardcore protesters and really make a show out of every potentially-political event. The passion they have over democracy really puts us other Western nations to shame.
