Criterion-developed Need for Speed coming 'next year' {Joystiq}
Nov 9th 2009 10:45PM It should've happend sooner. Taking EA's best racing staff to put some life back into one of their dieing franchises will be great.
I just see some layoffs coming in the distance though...

Nov 6th 2009 2:05PM Are you talking about the ability for the whole the whole team to talk to each other instead of just squads? Probably not I wish they would just have the ability to make your own squads like Killzone 2 then you could get around getting stuck in a squad with no mics or guys that aren't team players...

Netflix instant streaming demoed on PlayStation 3 (updated with more video!) {Engadget}

Xbox360 can do that too *gasp*
The thing that a PS3 does that Xbox360 doesn't is let you copy movies over to the HDD. My 160 gig PS3 is filled with half my DVD collection. My 120 gig Xbox360 is filled with DLC so it evens out...
Netflix instant streaming demoed on PlayStation 3 (updated with more video!) {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2009 1:51PM Meh I bet it's something to do with the studios why Netflix and other streaming alternatives don't get new releases. I've never seen a good DVD title go straight to on demand or payper view right away so most likely were just waiting on Hollywood to get their head out their ass.
Hopefully Netflix will be the one to do it in the next year or so. Then I can have a reason to justify having Netflix for instant streaming other than watching the re-runs and documentaries.
Video: 15 days in GTA IV's Liberty City {Joystiq}
Nov 6th 2009 10:44AM @Freedom Town
I think the reason why people think GTAIV's so lackluster is because some people were expecting the city to be larger, instead GTA IV made the game more of a complete package so they can have a good base to build the sequels. But GTAIV is nowhere near disappointing.
GTA IV broke a lot of grounds for this Gen. It set the bar for graphics, A.I, physics and various other things. Before GTA IV came out there were a lot of o.k games coming out that we as gamers settled for because there was no "bar" for what a game should be before GTA IV. After GTA IV came out with a massive sandbox cover system almost off of everything, A.I NPC's on a massive scale that acted more lifelike than we ever seen and graphicly more impressive than any other game that came out around that time. GTA IV was the complete package for this gen.
If you really think about it what game comes close to the realism GTAIV displays. There's none close. Just think about the little touches that games have yet to copy from GTA. From going down stairs to how NPC's interact in the world. GTA IV to me seems to be a game that's ahead of it's time and there's no way I feel that it's a "lackluster". It's just games are coming out so fast and so quick this Gen to keep playing online with friends we sometimes forget what makes our good game "good" to begin with.
I really felt the same way until I picked up TLAD DLC and saw everything months after GTAIV came out that have yet to be mimicked. Now I'm playing through BOGT DLC and still there's a ton that I see where GTA IV is a truly a technical feat that no game has yet to get close to.
Team up and watch this new Skate 3 trailer {Joystiq}
Nov 6th 2009 9:56AM The last 2 Skates took forever to get an ounce of info on now EA's dumping it out a lot quicker. I really think this is to take some air out of the Tony Hawk Ride release.
If no one was interested in that game before definitely no one will be if the Skate 3 trailers keep looking better and better...
