Jul 9th 2009 2:58PM The reality is that pretty much all major metropolitan area are using fiber optics. All FIOS does is take it to your house. Comcast is all fiber optic in Houston. Just the last segments to the home or apartment is copper. If it was all copper, they would have ran out of capacity years ago.

Jul 9th 2009 10:20AM In then end, I don't think Moblin or Chrome OS will be mainstays for usually computing tasks. I think they will demonstrate that they are very good bases for other devices that need an OS.
Many devices around us are operating on Linux and Microsoft CE. Some don't even have a screen. What do you think is running new ATM machines? Chrome OS and Moblin are really players in this market. It doesn't mean they can't be desktop uses for it, but I think there money will made in common devices where we may not even know they are installed on.

Jul 8th 2009 3:13PM Mr. Pickens problem has to deal with environmentalist who restrict the building of transmission lines.
The problem is the transmission lines are needed for wind farms and any other larger power generation outfit to transfer power.
A wind farm in south Texas was scuttled because environmentalist wanted migratory birds and the land for the transmission line saved.
