Oooo, something I want!
Yes, yes, yes! A 1-second pause would be perfect.
"... some sort of 'digital super-file' that could be bought for use on any electronic devices, but we're not at that point yet"

Seriously? MP3s are industry standard, playable on every device made for music playback for the past 10 years!

What's happening is that they want to take us AWAY from that point, rather than embracing what already exists.
Chill daddy-o, you're harshing the vibe 'round here. Just remember: the english language is constantly evolving and changing with the times. If you're unsure of the appropriate verbage, just google it. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=harshed
I dunno, not only do they last longer, but you also get instant recharging capabilities (no more last minute "oh crap, I forgot to recharge my laptop"). Depending on the fuel used, the additional cost for fuel could be nominal.
Firstly, it is not a combustion engine ... that would be silly. Second, the exhaust system would be separated from the internal electronics casing. In the mockups I've seen the fuel canaster takes the form of a handle/hinge for the laptop. I think you need to give engineers a little more credit.
No, taxes or levies on blank media is a terrible idea, don't you dare encourage it! Do a little research on levies that already exist:

Levies on CD-R media can now account for over 70% of the total cost! They tried to impose a levy on MP3 players that was thankfully repealed.
Don't you get it? The Zune is a ploy to bring down the RIAA: create a DRM delivery device with the cooperation of the RIAA and make it so BAD that it could never possibly succeed. Everyone will realize that it's easier to just rip a CD and DRM will fail. Then comes ... profit!

The man is a genius.
I would argue that making the movie is FAR worse. You are producing a product (the movie) based entirely on the tragedy in order to make profit. Guess what, the movie was marketed! Commercials, posters, magazine ads, celebrity endorsements, you name it. Somehow that is OK, but one bad ad in China sparks an uproar? Priorities people, "justdave" gets it, all you have to do is look around a little for things a hundred times worse than BENQ.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
