Video: the PS3 Laptop in action {Engadget}

Apr 12th 2008 7:02PM In one word? Amazing... with a Capital "A".

Since most of you seem concern about the weight, I'll simply say this: Yes, it is bulky. Yes, it is heavy. But frankly, who cares?! What real difference would it make if it was lighter? Most people will install their PS3 in their TV stands and leave it there. Yes, it is an hybrid with a laptop LCD screen and keyboard. But even so, you'll still put it on a table of some sort. So unless you're planning to put it on your knees while driving... it really won't matter how much it weights.

About the external power supply (a.k.a. the laptop brick), I simply think it was impossible. You think a guy who spent 14 months working on a project wouldn't have already thought about that? It's no small detail and I'm sure if there was a way to make it work, it would have been done.

And finally, about the upside-down disc, well unless you wanted to add an extra half-an-inch of thickness to the already big enough machine, is it even worth talking about it? It is upside-down. Period.

Ben, GOOD JOB. Personally, I prefer PC Gaming over any consoles, but this is great work. Thumbs up!

Panasonic unleashes a trio of wide angle, 8 megapixelers: Lumix FX33, FX55, and FZ18 {Engadget}

Jul 24th 2007 6:21PM Hi all !

I'm a sales rep in an electronic store in Quebec and from my point of view, i'm really glad Panasonic added the extra light sensor. They try to compensate for the missing viewfinder that most Canon, Olympus, Nikon, Samsung and Sony have. I talked to the Panasonic's rep last week about this problem. (I'm talking about the compacts.. I'm not including the "bridges" like the FZ8 or the FZ50 or the SLR like the L1).

As for the number of Mp... i don't think they're unnecessary.. it all depends if you're the "editing" type or the "shoot-and-show" type.

Of course, Pan's sweet image stabilizer will help out while handling the 18X of the FZ18.

I do approuve there is a slight problem with the noise, though. Some are "worse" than others but for the typical customer, even with the noise, a Pan's picture will still come out better because of the edge the stabilizer has. For more advanced users, noise is more annoying than shaking.. way more..

As for the style... well, you're looking at it! How could you not like what you see?
