i have the same lens (ef-s 17-55m f/2.8 is usm) mounted on my rebel t1i. if they can get video quality like that, then i'm not too far away. i'm just holding my breathe for some kind of firmware update to the video recording abilities. not being able to control exposure on the rebel t1i is so limiting! :( come on! throw us a bone, canon! :D
you know what's my biggest pet peeve? iphone users that record video in portrait mode. those black bars on the side are a pure sign of ignorance. i mean, come on! it's cleary evident that the youtube container is meant for landscape video. just hold the camera on it's side! is it that hard?! you'll get more video in your frame that way! geez!

...this is coming from someone who owns a 32gb iphone 3gs.
the day they were available in store, i drove around looking for a 32gb model and finally found a best buy that had ONE left. picked it up and bought it without hesitation. i love my zune hd :D

the killer selling point for me: zune pass. amazing.
i just finished watching all those videos on buy.com. holy crap. that's a great set of features. the deal is sealed. im totally picking one up.
it's not that the camera is really that big of a deal for everyday use, it's the fact that there are apps in the app store that only work (work best) if you have a built in camera. there are a handful of fun apps i never had the chance to use because i didnt have a camera in my ipod touch. the people saying to get over the ipod touch not having a camera have probably never owned or used an ipod touch for an extended period of time.

and to pre-emp the arguement of "just get an iphone", i got an ipod touch so i wouldnt have to deal with a monthly fee and 2 year contract.

but, it's already too late for me. i sold my ipod touch soon after hearing it wasnt getting any significant upgrades (other than processor).

good riddance to the first and only ipod i've ever owned. september 15th can't get here soon enough.
my thoughts exactly. i used to be on tmobile. i was with them for several years. loved their service and comparably cheaper rates. then i switched to verizon. although the coverage is better, i've been itching to get back with tmobile. customer support with tmobile is the best i've ever experienced. verizon customer support pales in comparison. the sudden surge of great android phones on tmobile gives me hope. and if the cliq does turn out to be free with a 2 year contract, i will pay whatever the fee is to terminate my verizon contract and jump ship.
so by your comparisons, the ipod shuffle, ipod nano and ipod classic are all "losers" too because they aren't phones.
you're comparing apples to oranges.
when a zune phone comes to market, then you can compare it to the iphone.

now, back on topic.

this is very competitively priced against the 32GB ipod touch ($399). it's just too bad there isn't a camera on the zune hd, because all signs point to the new ipods having cameras.
i've owned this camera since the bigging of june. one of my biggest gripes is the grip. after a while, my hand starts to cramp as the grip is a little on the small side.
also, the live view mode's autofocus feature takes longer than usual to focus on it's subject. i've found that if i change the live focus to ai focus, it flips the mirror down to get a faster more accurate focus reading, then resumes live view.
there are only 9 focal points, vs the 11 focal points that are standard in some nikon models.
and yes, would it have been that far of a stretch to give us 4 more fps in 1080p movie mode? granted, 20fps looks decent, but to the trained eye you can really see the difference. 720p 30fps mode is great though.
my pictures have come out pretty nice over all, the kit lense does leave a bit to be desired, but will do just fine for most people who purchase this camera, the "prosumer" line.
15mp images at this price is a great deal, i cant argue with that. other cameras in this price range offer about 12mp or lower. im very happy with the digic4 image processing.
the 3" lcd and vga resolution is beautiful. the display is so crisp, it makes it really easy to see if the pictures i've captured are soft or blurry. if the lcd was able to rotate, it would be much more versitile.
3.4 fps continuous burst mode is about average for entry level cameras. this is more in the middle of the road, i've like to see 4 or even 5 fps.

over all i'm very, very pleased with my purchase. i think for the money, you can't find another comparable camera like it.
century gothic? pretty close.
after spending about 2 hours in the store testing out both the canon t1i and the nikon d5000, i ended up with the t1i. there was something about the menu system on the nikon that didnt feel as intuitive to me as the t1i did. also, even though the t1i doesnt have a swiveling screen as the nikon does, the resolution on the canon is very high, about twice that of the d5000. every thing else was easily comparible. 12mp vs 15mp, 720p vs 1080p. but very similar quality for both nikon and canon. the sales person swears by nikon, but this time around she couldnt help but sway me in the direction of the canon t1i. really, at the end of the day, it's a matter of brand choice, since both are very similar, save a few differences like resolution for stills and hd movies. so, i guess what i'm saying is, boost the tech specs to make it more like the t1i :)

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
