meist3r you've misunderstood almost everything... ah, never mind. If LaughingTarget wishes to continue wasting his time explaining what you're missing he can do so. I can only advise him to start by defining some keywords like "market".
Just use the L2 or R2 buttons to reel in your string, that will let you build up combos on later levels.
Insta-drop is still not really worthwhile, they don't actually drop more pollen, and it's better to stay in the air so that a partner can extend your combo (they're shared across multiplayer). It's only good to try to prevent people going off screen and losing you pollen.
Levi, what working out do the rock switches/teleporters/boosters require? Surely you use them once and you see how they work?
I only really noticed the time constraint until the fourth/fifth spectra on the last few levels, and I thought it was reasonable, the time is the only thing actually adding difficulty to the game...
I know a couple that 'don't get it', and I can appreciate that, but it's my favourite game of '08, not just DLC.
The patch should mostly be good for fixing the multiplayer camera before the expansion, which isn't soon enough!
I love racers! But my save data got deleted when my PS3 HD failed. Gamefaqs and the usual suspects don't seem to have a PJR save data, and I can't be arsed to unlock everything again, could you possibly host yours? :D
And I hope that you can still choose the normal "hard" mode, a friend and I finished the game in the summer, and in the recent drought of games have opted to delete our data and do it again whenever we're bored, so hopefully the easiness is optional too.
Personally I can't stand watching movies on the 360 anyway. The remote is garish and during the quiet scenes the noise from the fan always gets on my nerves.
These are about the reviews I expected, to be honest. I never really pay too much attention to reviews, as people have already mentioned, 7+ tells you it's not an awful game, the rest is up to the player.
This game has impressed me. Sure I love to see my favourite shooters refined, or my fighters tweaked, but a new IP with a new mechanic that isn't totally rubbish, and in fact, is pretty good, that's something I'm far happier to spend my money on.
Maybe it's different for teenagers that only get a game or two a season, or gamers that will buy the 5 'MUSTBUY' FPS before considering another genre, but £10 for Braid, £40 for Zone of the Enders 2 for example, have been my more proud purchases.
I have a job, I want games to end, I want them to offer me a high standard of gameplay and then finish. I'm too old for my previous love of 60 hour affairs, fed up of games artificially extending gameplay.
Not every game has to be long, 'sandbox' is not the standard or always improves the experience (what happened to Direction in games?), and I had hella fun on the demo.
Sorry for the rant, not trying to convince people, just I've already made my preorder (time trial demo was awesome) and I need somewhere to vent my impatience!
Khan, he cherrypicked out the good titles because he was making a comment on shovelware...
That was an acknowledgement of the 'good' titles...
Well my dad got my Wii as a hand-me-down after Galaxy, so I'm probably biased anyway, however I do understand how you can be paranoid about criticism as a Wii owner.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
