Ahhh!!! I've been away for the last few days. I missed a lot of this. :(. You still rock Engadget!
Engadget, you truly are the king of kings.♠
Mmmmm.... MPx :)
Being a Palm enthusiast, this phone actually gives me some hope for Palm heading in the right direction again. It's not the best looking phone but it definitely does surpass anything aesthetically that's come from Palm lately. For a sub-$100 phone, this looks to be fairly promising. Let's just hope they continue delivering products like this and improving their line.
Halo: Combat Evolved

The final Warthog run is unparalleled in video gaming for me.
Congrats Erik.

Hope you enjoy the 360 that so many people would've done so many crazy things for (including me). Just be careful not to give out any personal info or you'll probably be rushed by an angry mob with flaming torches and swords, pretending to be Spartans...
Although many people got owned throughout the entire movie, I must say my favourite part would have to be outside the battlefield.

When the Persian messenger questions Queen Gorgo's interest and involvement in political issues, she simply owns him with "Because Spartan women are the only women who give birth to real men."
The $50 price cut couldn't have come at a better time. With Sony's recent price cut (even if it is 'bait-and-switch'), it did put some pressure on Microsoft and 360's current price point. I just recently picked up a PS3 due to their price drop (Why not just change the 60 GB drive and save some money?) and I agree with a lot of the Xbox users on this forum. Owning all 3 consoles and a fairly decent PC, I can truly say that Xbox Live is by far superior to the PSN, the Wii's non-existent online and MS's weak attempt of Games for Windows. Although costing $50, it is truly worth the speed, reliability and community features. However, with saying that I do look forward to PS Home which will definitely squeeze Microsoft to possibly overhaul 360's online capabilities yet again. Who wins in the end? Us, the users.

Second of all, the 360 has a multitude of exclusives and appealing titles coming this fall and holiday season. I personally believe that is the hardcore gamer's console of choice for 2007. I don't know a) How I will be able to afford all the games I want to play and b) When I will get the time to play them. Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, PGR4, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, GTA IV (for PS3 as well), DMC4 (for PS3 as well), COD4, Jericho, Rock Band (also for PS3), and the list goes on. Note: I listed a few multi-platform games on the 360 because where I live, 360 games are generally $10 cheaper than PS3 games.

However, 2008 will be the PS3's blossoming year with titles such as Killzone 2, MGS 4, LittleBig Planet, Heavy Rain, GT5, UT3 (timed-exclusive), Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Lair, the addition of PS Home and much more. Once again, the competition only benefits consumers with a great number of amazing titles for anyone looking into gaming.

Another issue involved in this thread is the lack of WiFi support on the 360. I can see how this can be a hassle depending on one's situation. I agree that for the price being paid, the PS3 truly packs much more value with the inclusion of a Blu-Ray player and Wifi. If you buy an Xbox360 and add the feature of HD movie playback and Wifi, it comes out to slightly more than a PS3 at current pricing. Again, I also appreciate Microsoft's approach with allowing user's to choose what they need. The only problem with it is that their initial console price seems rather steep for the feature set. If this price drop is really coming, it will really help to lessen that issue.

The next argument I see is about this being a 'bait and switch' solution by MS. We do not know which SKU's this price drop will involve. If it only involves the 360's with component HD output then yes, it is a bait and switch situation. However, no one can judge that as of yet because no one knows for sure. We know that MS is making a move to bring HD output to the mainstream as their limited edition Halo 3 SKU brings HDMI output and the rumoured 65 nm Falcon 360 is supposedly going to have an HDMI output. MS themself has said (sorry for the lack of link. I can't seem to find it at this time) that they plan to bring minor hardware upgrades to the 360 in phases. This means they will slowly turn 90 nm chips to 65 nm chips and will be altering the internal configurations of the 360 in stages in order to test and figure out the best implementation of their hardware.

Finally, to all fanboys (Xbots, PS3 fanboys and even Nintendogs. I do not understand your motives in bashing another console. You bought what you bought for a reason. Do you feel so insecure about your purchase that you must go around attempting to make the competition look weaker? Why are you not enjoying your purchase instead? Did you realize you made a mistake? Please, think hard before flaming. It does not help anyone. If you want some attention I'm sure there are a few dozen help chat hotlines in your area. Save it for them.

Thank you for reading.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
