Yes, but prices in the EU include VAT (sales tax) and as I understand prices in the US don't ... so subtract around 20% from the euro price and you get €359, which according to the goggle conversion is $485 ... sounds like we're getting a good deal
Ye, Estonia would be more like the size of the '.' in the VS.

But since when has engadget been particularly accurate in their depictions of geography.
Ryan, that really is a rather poor excuse and an even poorer apology.

I didn't see anyone suggest that you had created the image, but the image was obviously chosen by someone and approved for use. While Engadget may be a blog which frequently plants its tounge firmly in its cheek, and makes ample use of pop culture references, it is also a media organisation and should have some awareness regarding what's going to be totally out of order.

Just because you reproduce someone else's image does not give carte blanc to do as you will, once you redistribute an image you must assume responsibility for its use. And it is the use of this image with which I took issue, and it is the casual manner with which you dismiss the offence caused that I continue to take issue with.
Come on lads, have you ever even looked at a map of Europe, this is way out of order. England, Britain, the UK, and especially Ireland are not one and the same entity. Whatever about using 'England', to describe Britain or the UK, to use an image which includes Ireland draped in the British flag is just plain ignorant and insensitive.

The slightest bit of awareness of world history and geo-political relationships would tell you that this was a mistake. Seriously, put down the gadgets, back away slowly and go read a book or look at a map, and start to learn about the world outside of your back garden.
Yes but the dog pees down ... trying to pee up just gets messy!
Please pick the poor student!!!
The population of France is approximately 20.5% that of the USA. Hardly insignificant. Also take into account the fact that like happened with legislation regarding smoking, plastic bags etc. where one EU country leads others will often follow. The population of the EU is approximately 150% that of the USA, and is due to increase when membership goes up to 27 countires in 2007. So it would seem from a cursory glance at the stats that this isn't something to simply scoff at.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
