I finally got it to start downloading and stay downloading using Firefox (3.5.5 again) on my T61 running Windows 7. Of course it still has another 2 hours or so to go, but I'm guessing it's worth it.

@Nerdtalker - Agreed. I don't think Steve is the kind of CEO who forgets something like VZW saying "No Thanks" when they had the chance. It's in Apple's best interest to fight VZW now too.
