Who can give me some tips on how to upgrade my videocard (curently a 8400M GS)! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I bought an HP dv6599eg last september with a 8400M GS inside. The overheating issues started just a few weeks ago, when i firs heard about the foulty nvidia cards, now as the temperature rose it´s gotten preety bad! The fan is goin wild and i can bearly hold my hand on the touchpad. The battery life is very poor now too!
Hope i don´t get screwed over by nvidia and hp as i paid a lotta mony on this sob (1100 euros, that´s like $ 2000 now :D)
I wonder if this software update refers to the mobile GPUs too. Talk about romerse... i have a 8400M GS now on my HP Pavilion, i´ve been getting some slight boosts with the new drivers as they came out like more FPS and better DX9 performance but still not satisfied, although i´m pleased with the fact that i can run DX10 titles.
Can´t wait till the PhysX software update comes out!
The magical mystery toy, hoping to take you away...

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
