@Erb I know, I'm not @Hexydes but here's the deal ... Apple probably convinced AT&T to buy the devices at, say, $500, with the expectation that consumers' data fees would recoup that difference and more. Basically, AT&T made a poor decision, gambled with our money and stuck us with the loss. Hey, just like the government and big business!
Did they say this was a letter from Verizon or Vizzini?

Consumers: Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.
Vz: Wait til I get going! Now, where was I?
But is it "2Big 2Fail"?
@LloydChiro It's in their press release ... their HQs are in Compton, CA. Seeing the city's name brought back fond college memories. Yes, I'm white.
Straight outta Compton!

You better believe it's worth 49.99 ... especially if you can't find a cheaper alternative or one that just plain works ... and I mean works well. I bought a Sony BT transceiver (works bidirectionally) for my car for the same price and it's worth every penny.

So how does this thing power itself ... I couldn't find any mention of that in my hasty review of the article ...
"Essentially, TC claims that the phone will function on any GSM network you throw at it -- we assume that means an extremely rare pairing of both T-Mobile and AT&T 3G bands in the radio"

Are you guys seriously associating GSM with 3G? Seriously?
I hope it will have cultural sensitivity thresholds ... from near-comatose to manic: Asian, British, European, Mediterranean ... when gestures are used as input, one size most definitely does not fit all.
@Shovel Man I'll second that motion ... AT&T might as well be called Apple Telephone & Telegraph (can someone come up with a nice logo of the blue AT&T sphere with a bite taken out of it, please?) ... the iPhone is all they care about. I left after almost ten years of service (I know, they switched names and ownership a few times in that timeframe). I was sick and tired of paying exorbitant rates for them to primarily support the iPhone user base.
This is the Droid your parents warned you about.
@LondonConsultant It was the only way they could get the removable battery in the design. Sorry!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
