Is an iPod's hard drive really fast enough for this? What kind of data rate do you need for DV, presuming the camcorder is doing some kind of on-the-fly compression?
iPods also are dual-processor (80mhz ARMs in 4G and minis, don't know what the 5Gs use).

Moot point also, due to their fate. Oh, wait.

"wrought with difficulties" ?

... or you could buy a Lifebook 1120 on eBay for $750. It's several years old now, but the specs aren't much less. This flybook just doesn't seem like much progress to justify such a hefty price tag.

2.2 lbs
8.9" touchscreen
30gb hd
802.11b and ethernet
256mb ram
800mhz

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
