I take that first part back :) you didn't actually say it was new, just revised. My error.
Apologies.
Not to be picky, but this isn't a new setup for BMW. It is in fact, a very old setup for BMW.
The horizontal twin has been on BMW motorcycles far longer than the traditional parallel engine.
I do like that BMW went back to the H engine, it is appropriate. A BMW bike with a parallel engine jsut doesn't feel right. The horizontal layout creates a superb gyro on un-even terrain, allowing the rider to pull this heavy of a machine up very steep or techincal singletrak, something missing from most heavy adventure bikes (the hummer bike, the KTM LC-series)
To anyone considering a dual-sport machine, go BMW. I am on my second R100GS PD, very cool bikes, very reliable.
that picture makes it look mean!
Like it eats small children that are unfortunate enough to step near it ;)
What a gorgeous touch. Too often those with the means to purchase a vehicle like this decide to go far overboard with the detailing. I think of Diamond coated SLRs.
However, this paint job, while extravagant, slips well under the radar in terms of the "hey, stare at me" factor.
Well, that is, as much as a million dollar sportscar can slip under the radar.
wow.... who cares?
Personally, I would put his lapel choice very low on the list of things the President should be criticized for.
Do the foreign leaders or the financial system care whether Obama's lapel is pointed, rounded, or purple polka-doted? nope, and noone else does either.
Go slam Diddy for wearing Blue or something.
I agree, Money is speaking through these women. Cities heavily mandate what can and cannot be done in a store, and control the building through permits and inspections. If Apple was in violation of the law, they wouldn't have been awarded a building permit and business license.
I hope the court throws this out, its on the steep edge of frivilous.
wait, i'm having trouble with what Myrmidon and T-Bone just said, but more T-Bone than the former. He kind of disproves Myrmidon's statements
"If I hear something behind me and to the right, I can turn my head..."
So, wait. if surround sound is only possible if you turn your head to pick up on the difference in wavelength, then how did you know the sound was behind and to the right in the first place.
Humans are amongst the few on earth that have the ability to distinguish sound location naturally, without moving ears or head.
Surround sound in a headphone is done by placing several tiny speakers inside, and activating each individually, similar to 7.1 surround. Its not trickery, or false promises, if a sound is behind an to the right, then the sound is put through the right headphone, rear most speakers.
Ok, while I do think that forbes' facts are skewed here, I'm thinking that a couple of you are speaking in fairy tales with these responses. Especially #6. I dont care how much you're spending, how many items you have to reduce the total of insurance or how good your credit is, a 20 year old cant full coverage for $200/month per car, even for a mustang with no moving violations. Insurance companies aren't that stupid.

I'm calling the bluff
Ok, PS3 can't be used in hardware sales data for the Blue-Ray format because the entire play station is a multi-platform device. Could eb used for gaming, could be used for movies. and I dont know if I would argue too much with the 40% figure being tossed about.
However, the HD-DVD player for the Xbox 360 is ONLY for watching movies. That leaves a 100% player-purchased to player-used ratio. Including the MS dvd player and excluding the PS3 is entirely appropriate. The data as presented is very un-biased, and well thought through.
In further defense of the PS3 being dropped form stats for this purpose, how would it sound if the author put in "XX amount of blue-ray enabled devices sold plus roughly 40% of PS3 sales atributed to blue-ray use" That's kind of a wishy-washy statement. Doesn't breed reader loyalty, and counts on a device who's primary use isn't movies.
Would be the same as including every laptop that has a built in HD DVD or Blue Ray drive. They have absolutely no way of tracking the amount of ideal usage for the drive itself. same as the PS3.
I dont really care either way. I have both the PS3 and a 360 with HD DVD player, both running on HDMI on a Grand Wega, I dont see enough of a difference between regular DVD on an HD screen, and High Def(either format) on an HD screen to really care. and for the record, I bought exactly one movie for my PS3, and I never watch it(dont think its been out of its case yet). See, i've bought a PS3 and a BR disc, and haven't used either. Doesn't sound like my sales data would make solid comparison information.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
