Widescreen DS refresh on the way? {Engadget}
Sep 4th 2008 6:57PM If it is true, why worry about the second touchscreen being incompatible with currently released games. Wouldn't it be possible for current games to play as normal in a dual touch DS, only difference being that the game would ignore the input of the 2nd touchscreen. Even if it was next gen, it should work out to be the same, cause I doubt Nintendo is going drop backwards compatibility of current gen DS games in it's next gen DS, dual touchscreen or not. I'm not educated in the ways of hardware to software compatibility, but that is the way it should work.
Lenovo goes netbook with IdeaPad S10 {Engadget}
Aug 4th 2008 12:18PM >_> I meant the trackpad has two separate buttons for left and right mouse clicks.
Engadget, we really need an edit option for commentary.
Lenovo goes netbook with IdeaPad S10 {Engadget}
Aug 4th 2008 12:14PM This new netbook seems like it would be really great. I was going to buy a MSI wind(6 cell of course), but now I'm definitely going to wait until the S10 gets a proper review. As far as I can tell from the pics, this netbook already has two advantages over the MSIWind: it's trackpad actually has three separate buttons for the left and right mouse clicks, it's trackpad is multitouch, and there's an expresscard slot. That low price could be another advantage over the Wind($450 4 1GB ^_^), but depending on available battery options that price might change.
Now I want to know:
-it's available battery options
-battery life
-its max RAM capacity
-the size of the keyboard
-it's durability

ASUS prepping "high-end" Eee PC S-series for September {Engadget}
Jul 31st 2008 2:51AM Alright this is starting to get disgusting. 23 models .... why ..23 ah ...... do we really need 23 different models of the eee pc, people in the market for a netbook, don't differ that much in terms of their needs, at least not enough to justify 23 different models of choice. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but when this all started, weren't netbooks supposed to be a cheap solution to a laptop(in sub $600 range)? It was supposed to be you get a netbook that fits your basic laptop needs without having to break the bank on full lappie. Now Asus wants to sell "high-end netbooks" for the price of a full laptop. If going to cost $700 - $900 anyway way's the benefit in buying these soon to come eee pcs over a regular laptop.
Comically ill-divided Dragon Ball screens {DS Fanboy}
Jul 23rd 2008 1:04AM Yea you are remembering right, Bulma did show Roshi her panties(tho she forget she wasn't wearing any). If I remember correctly, I believe she wanted a gift from him since goku got a nimbus cloud. Roshi agreed to give her something only if she flashed her underwear. Besides that though, that image just screams pedo. I know the art style of Dragonball wasn't great when depicting the actrual age of the characters, but that's just wrong, Bulma should have been like 16 at that time. Now that I think about it though, a old fart like Roshi checking out naked 16yr old Bulma, still puts up a lot more warning signs than I'd want to know about.
Duke Nukem Trilogy for PSP 'more mature, more hardcore' {PSP Fanboy}
Jul 20th 2008 5:15AM -_- Right they made cards, not toys, damn how did I mix that up. Anyway thanks for setting me straight there Mellie.
Duke Nukem Trilogy for PSP 'more mature, more hardcore' {PSP Fanboy}
Jul 19th 2008 5:12AM PSP ver. gets mature rating, while the DS gets a teen rating.................WTH! I know Nintendo used to be toy makers, but that still doesn't justify shoving watered down kiddie games down the fan base's throat.... (>_>) ....ok whatever, Nintendo been pissin me off anyway, they're slowly screwing themselves over. If this game EVER comes out, I'll just buy the PSP version and be done with it.
Sony: iPhone not a threat, GPS coming within 9 months {PSP Fanboy}
Jul 18th 2008 4:08PM Thank you tekdroid, at least someone understands. The Iphone is no competition for either the DS or the PSP. First off a good portable gaming device needs tactile controls, the Iphone has none. Of course, some of you may say the DS has proven full touchscreen games can be great(which is true), but to that I say there's a big difference between using your finger for game control than using a much smaller more precise stylus. Because the Iphone is all touchscreen there's a serious limitation on the types of games that can be made for it. I shouldn't even have to mention the storage limitation. No one is really going to purchase the Iphone or Ipod Touch for its gaming capabilities, the PSP and DS just provide better options and more variety in that department.
Soul Calibur IV demo coming 'down the road' {Joystiq}
Jul 17th 2008 9:36PM ^_^ There's something magical about a metal shield that can deflect a searing laser beam. Can't wait to see how they explain this one, heck I'm still pondering how the hell Link got thrown into SC.
Joystiq poll: Which of the Big 3 had the best E3 keynote? {Joystiq}
Jul 15th 2008 7:01PM Hah Nintendo, what a waste of space in the E3 08 coverage. They come to one of the biggest gaming events of the year and all they bring to the table is a bunch of shallow Mii encrusted games(feeding the damn casual masses once more), a gimmicky snowboarding game, Animal Crossing, and what is sure to be a watered-down version of GTA on the DS. Hopefully they redeem themselves at TGS 08, cause my enthusiasm to buy future Wii games is diminished enough already.
On the brighter, better side of things Sony and MS both had good a showing. Sony's GOW3 and Resistance 2 caught my attention pretty well, but MS still owned anyway. Fable 2, Fallout 3, and Gears Of War 2, heck they even had release dates, MS wins for now.
One thing that was weird though, FFXIII on the 360 >_> wtf. I know this might sound stupid to some of you but will the hardcore Xbox fans really want that, I mean the xbox hasn't really been known for its rpg/jrpg supply. FF fans probably already opted out for a PS3(Playstation is the system for RPGs). Well I guess its about time MS shows rpgs some love if they want to sell in Japan...oh wait...FFXII isn't coming out on 360 in Japan is it, another wtf moment. Well for those who only own a 360, I guess this will be a nice change of pace from the usual, if they actually buy FFXIII that is.
