The GSkill titan has specs close to the intel x25-m and doesnt have the stuttering problem common to ssds using jmicron controllers (the titan version uses 2 controllers). 500$ for the 256GB and 270 for the 128GB kills the current intel offering.
the upcoming ocz apex ssd seems to have an internal RAID 0.
corsair is getting into the game as well.
On a side note, shouldnt we consider that ssd have almost reached the capacity of HDDs ?? 256GB SSD have come out and 500GB/1TB have been anounced ( i think) in a 2.5in form factor , to which comparable HDDs are at 500GB and 750GB have been announced.
I am just curious, but i was under the assumption that with memory we used bytes. I know that with bits the numbers we see are 8 times bigger and looks good. Otherwise, am i missing something with this particular tech ?
Honestly, if you already have the K10, i don t really see a need to get the k20 right now especially at this price point.
I sold my isd D (another pentaxist here !) last october for the k10, and the money im saving by waiting for the k30? is going directly to buying lens and a lightweight tripod.
pentax most likely (for serious but maybe not pro photographers) offers the best bang for the buck and they are important even to canon and nikon users since the company innovates and offers competition.
Now i m going to cry to sleep because my uncle decided to give me most of his photography equipment- konica minolta maxxum 9 with a 80-200mm 2.8f, 100mm 2.8f, 85mm 2.8f and other g series lens...........
I would prefer PATA/IDE, so that i could use all my old HDs - make them oversized usb drives. (but i guess you could just put an adapter in between if there s room)
"All of these new nettops have me intrigued. I'm looking for a small, quiet and cheap PC to replace my aging tower in my home office, and all it really needs to do is load Microsoft Office, check email and surf the web. Is there a particular nettop that's better (or a better value) than another? I know it's a rather new segment, but hopefully someone has taken a chance on one already. Thanks!"
