DARPAs first job is to scare any potential foes*, who knows what black stuff we have up our sleeves.

* Those real countries with sane leaders.
He's probably on a Xandros box and his network admin didn't tell him.
MKV is a research device. It did its job, and it's decedents will be fielded. The potential of small, independently navigated vehicles that work in the high-mach regime is not going to be forgotten. The F22 and F35 are just placeholders until autonomous swarms of cooperative UCAVs rule the skies.
Apple is on to something - geeks are outnumbers by non-geeks. They laugh all the way to the bank; while we point out how everything they could have been done using a older device and some hacks.

Been to Africa? $50 ea. is a pretty high barrier. They don't need cute night lights, they need real lighting to extend their productive time at home.
I wish the game developers and graphic card makers would get together and support a Gaming Distro, with a simple tutorial for a dual boot installation. I would much rather play game s with significant resource requirements in their own sandbox.

Daytime use only. Ballistic calcs are more often used by mortar crews, snipers have several cool tools.
You haven't seen typical military apps have you ... that's real and light years better then the usual fare.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
