weird i see nothing but negative comments about windows from half the users on engadget and then as soon as its cheap it looks like everyone wants it... choose me engadget ill give windows 7 a good home....
at my store weve had so many calls about the pre... we were given less than 10 to sell this saturday... good luck if you really want one...
any computer that you find in a brick and mortar store with 4gb of RAM or more will have the 64 bit OS (unless its an Acer as the last 3 at my store have all had 32 bit with 4gbs of memory bad Acer bad!!)
next youre going to tell me they took off the firewire on the aluminum macbooks and the new iMacs... oh wait...
thats why i abandoned ship back in august...

possibly the worst supervisor position i have ever had!
I loved alot of the people i worked with but upper management and corporate dug a deep hole for the company...
I have friends that are still (well i guess were) there and feel sorry for them but they all held loyalty to a company that could give 2 craps less about them... only problem now for them is pretty much everyone has a hiring freeze of sorts (even wal-mart and best buy are on hiring freezes right now)... feel bad for the people that lost their jobs but they shouldve probably looked at getting another job back in the 2nd quarter of last year when CC hit .10 per stock and CC tried saying that "everything will be fine"...

also anyone want to buy some CC red, black, or firedog shirts before they become antiques with sentimental value off the charts?
crazy that a company would like to be profitable?
maybe they should just do charity work and fix computers for free?

come on people its a business what do you expect?

id rather my dad go to best buy for help than call me to walk him through trouble shooting anyday
wow this new car is great but can you install an 8-track instead because I don't have any CD's....
What? you want to charge me for old technology?!?!?! you mean I'm paying for the CD player that comes with this car??? and the 8-track??? this is nonsense!!!

if you don't want vista build a custom PC and by XP seperate... better yet try vista!!!... most people that I sell computers to hate vista but yet have never used it...
=D fallout 3 is amazing!
I've been eye balling the sidewinder mouse and keyboard set up for awhile now at work...

also its funny how many people suddenly are fans of MS on here but looking at their previous comments as of a week or two ago they were bashing MS... hmmm i guess free stuff changes your mind huh?
Well the reason I left CC is the way they manage your individual numbers... when I was supervisor they wanted me to start to warn, then write up, and then terminate associates who werent hitting 10% CCAPP (circuit city advantage protection plan) penetration... 1 in 10 computers to have an overly priced protection plan?... yes best buy pushes plans as well but I don't get chewed out for not selling one I dont get threatened to be written up...

maybe firing the thousands of people they did 2 years ago is coming to bite them in the ass eh? that was a moral booster when i started let me tell you...

you couldn't pay me enough to go back to CC ever...and it wasn't just one manager, all the managers were trained to treat the employees like walking profit generators and not people... not a single manager that i worked with still works at CC (that only a total of 9 in two years lol but they are all in different companies now) doesn't that say something? hell even their CEO (douche) left...

as for the the "the city" concept, its great in theory but those stores carry about 1/10th the product and i felt like a wounded animal in between a pack of wolves the way they kept attacking me...

glad i jumped ships before the big red one sinks...

also the blue kool-aid tastes alot better than the red one...
Thanks tony and plothole

Just wasn't sure if it was one of those myths or not...

I mean I've used pretty much all of the major brands and their stabilizers (well ive used the a350, the olympus 510, XSI, and the D60) but never really noticed a difference from the stabilzers... was just a few basic photos of same tree over and over at around 250mm, but still not one that really stood out and made me go "wow this stabilizer stands out!!"...

Once again though I do appreciate the opinions
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
