I was expecting a lot more from Sony.

I thought that by moving the controls to the slide, they could actually make the screen bigger (to the lovely 4.8inch MID size). I also thought they saw what Apple was doing with there iPhone gaming network over 3G and would have added similar functionality (perhaps that is what the bluetooth will also do, to a special Sony phone of course). The dual analogue should have been a simple design change (if you want to play a FPS games on the PSP, you really want that second stick). The only thing for me, that would keep me interested in the device, would be touch screen, for better web browsing (and on screen keyboard).
The FW is getting a graphics update. How does a 4650 sound? Now that is better then the Dell (btw the 16.4" Dell has a 3670, so technically the new Sony will be quite a lot faster). Check out the UK site for more info http://vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=VGN-FW41ZJ%2FH&site=voe_en_GB_cons&category=VN+FW+Series&assetid=1218032875460
What I don't understand is why Sony doesn't get the ION based Nvidia GPU's. The Macbook Air gets an Nvidia 9400, which would make it very similar to the ION platform showing up in new Atom based desktops. Wouldn't this lightweight, low power and cool running GPU be great in the TT and even the Z (which currently has the 9300)? Much better then the piece of crap Intel the TT currently runs.
It might be an industry standard, but a few years ago they also used IDE HDD's in notebooks. Your old notebook may have the space, but these are SATA HDD's. I think you will see these in your 17-inch monster notebooks, blade servers and inside of tiny desktops, but you will have to wait to get a true replacement for the 320GB.
Geez guys, Engadget may just be having some fun themselves. After all this isn't a news site, it's news blog, therefore giving them the ability to make mistakes and make jokes without worrying. So what I'm trying to say is, thanks for this Engadget boys and girls, for this is blogging.
That is going to be one freeking sweet camera, specially if I can use my older Minolta lenses on it. I got to say, there are alot of Sony hatters out there, but they do make some rock solid products.
For that price, I would love to see this thing in Australia.
The Iriver products are usually pretty good stuff , will be nice to see them hit the market. To bad it isn't anything like the U10 prototype from a few months back.
There was a time people where mitsubishi made the best monitors around (next to sony) lets just hope these are comparable.
I personally think that this laptop is awsome but would have been a tad bit better if it had a nicer video card , maybe just one up in the series of nvidia cards but still would have been nicer. Still for a 13.3 inch laptop it has alot of stuff in a little light package. No i don't work for sony but man i have a s28 and know they are good stuff.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
