To all those saying the quality control is horrible or that the quality of this laptop is low, please do not comment on this unless you have spent more time with the laptop. I have had my tx1000 for nearly 2 years now and have had no problems with it besides the heat and lower than average battery life. With the 6-cell you should get 2-3 hours and after 2 years the life of the 6-cell goes down to about 1 hour which is typical for a battery after heavy, heavy use.

The tx1000 is one of the sturdiest, longest lasting HP laptop I have ever owned and strongly recommend the later and much better tx2 variant. It's a fantastic form factor and even got mistakenly called a netbook by a few poeple. If you are going to college, this is the laptop to own!

At the time of writing this however the coupon has expired so wait again and keep an eye on deals2buy.com
and you are qualified to comment on this how? This is an amazing deal for the laptop. I own the original tx1000 and the tx2 is 100% worth every penny, you couldn't get a multitouch laptop for any cheaper. The only thing the business laptops/tablets will give you is a higher price and more defined corners/edges...do your research first before ever commenting on anything you don't know about again.
How "random" are these contest winners picked is my question, but throw me in that drawing
Ph0bia is right, the 4th person is both preparing his gun and looks at his watch at one point. There are only 4 perks shown, the other symbol is part of the Airport's signs.

Could you be playing as the bad guys now? Will you be able to play both sides? That would be interesting
Woot! GOod luck everyone
That is the tokyoflash concept, the site you linked to took a screenshot of the survey page...
@EricC:

Sure it's not the same in functionality, it actually does less than what the wavebird can do! Aside from being able to navigate in the main system menu the wavebird can perform all the functions he showed in the video. HOWEVER, that is not what my post was about (well not my main point atleast). I was questioning the blogger, not the person who made the modification nor the mod itself. He over-emphasized the hack making it seem like it was the only way for a gamecube controller to be used with the Wii - that is where the fault lies
And you are a blogger for engadget now? What have they gotten themselves into! The wavebird can be used in the Wii (they made sure the connector would fit) and you're reporting on an unnecessary hack as if it is something important, something that couldn't have been done? I noticed this is your first post, but come on - anyone who owns a Wii or knows anything about the Wii would know this
Is it just me or does the later it get in EST time zone the more entries there seem to be when I noticed the competitions, oh well
Who loves you? You've used that for more than one giveaway now, it's getting old! I'm starting to believe that you don't love me :(
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
