Yes, that was happening all weekend and the performance of the forums has been poor for a couple of weeks now (since the HD2 was released).
Never heard of them. Could that have anything to do with it?
And what happens when I need to alter my route to avoid a traffic jam? Or what if I want to take a scenic detour? In both scenarios I might need access to maps that weren't pre-cached and in both situations I'd be bang out of luck if I'd stuck with Google.

This would even be a problem where you're not driving abroad. What happens if you've used up your monthly data allowance or your in an area with no mobile coverage and need to access new maps?

I'd rather stick with WinMo and a decent satnav application than run the risk of having my Google satnav fail when I need it most.
Note that Google's Navigator would be 100% useless for anyone who has to drive across national borders and doesn't want to pay massive roaming charges.
@what a surprise: Other than a flashier UI, what exactly is WinMo lacking that the other OSes have?
Gizmodo's review was probably the worst case of fanboyism I've ever come across. To summarise, everything about the phone is absolutely perfect but we hate it because it's running WinMo. They didn't even bother to explain why they hated it, just assuming that everyone would agree.

I barely bother visiting Gizmodo any more and its "reviews" like this one that will continue to sink them into obscurity. That and the constant Steve Jobs hagiography.
What new sim cards from 3?
@Jack: "They should be concerned because that person is using a PC instead of a Mac to run OS X on. That translates directly to lost revenue for Apple."

You sound a little too much like the RIAA. I think it's pretty safe to say that Apple would never have had that sale if the person is trying to install OS X on a PC that they already have.
Is that a Nokia running Windows Mobile?
It will work but your network connection will be limited to EDGE due to the funny 3G frequency that AT&T use.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
