Outlandish name, you say? From the Wikipedia:
"Voigtländer is an optical company founded in 1756 by Johann Christoph Voigtländer in Vienna and thus the oldest name in cameras"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voigtlaender
"Mark recommends that you get 2 gigs of RAM to really make this baby fly"

So do I. The RAM is a big help. But what happens in a year when 10.5 and Office 2007 and CS 3 are out? More RAM will likely be called for, but you can't fit more RAM in the computer. What happens next year is called planned obsolescence.

It's sad that there are no Intel Macs that will hold more than 2 GB of RAM. It's more than sad that no reviewers are calling attention to this major lack of upgradeability.
I agree with Justin. You can have all of this information and more on your hard drive instead of on the web.

Omniweb is still using your monitor profile as the default for viewing images, instead of sRGB. sRGB is recommended by w3c and is what most digital cameras use. I'm not buying until they fix this.
Still no support for color profiles in JPEG images, or other images. Not good. Safari and other Webkit browsers have this.
I'm glad to see Samsung taking some chances with their packaging instead of following the herd. The buttons on the back near the screen might actually be an improvement over joystick button layout that everybody else uses.
Negatives:
The small NV3 doesn't let in enough light, just like every other folded optics design (f3.5).
The big NV7 has a zoom that starts at 38mm. That's not a very wide angle lens. Maybe it's a mistake and they really mean 28mm. That would make me a lot more interested in this camera.
ATP has been making fast, waterproof cards for years.

"I have never heard any of these phrases." It could be because nobody uses them. Wired has been known to make up stories like this.
No stories yet about any other company's gadget factories yet. You've had two or three on iPod factories now. I don't think you hate Apple, I just think you are very shallow. Staying with this story is just like repeating malicious gossip about the in crowd in high school.
"so until we find a way to break our gadget addiction, we'll all be complicit in these practices to some degree." I think that sentence is weak. Try ending the sentence with "we are all complicit in these practices." That's present tense, leaving no room for doubt.

Still I'm impressed that you even mention the conditions under which gadgets are produced. That's a big step forward for engadget. I hope to see more posts about this subject in engadget.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
