@Vic the One

You would be surprise to know the # of iphones india.. (close to 60/70 K)
We wont be seeing the light of 3G for next 2/3 yrs atleast, still iPhone's will sell well here..ihope.
You guys probably know that HP designed this for Educational space. They iterviewed this segment and came out with the specs et al. (NO CD/DVD drive so pupils dont install games and stuff, small screen size so that tutors can keep an eye on the pupil indulging themselves glaring at the screen when he/she is lecturing..etc.)
Interesting.. Reliance in India launched WiMax in Pune and Bangalore in July 07 at very competitive rates - Rs 500 (12.5 USD) installation charges and then plans starting from as low as 15 USD to 20 USD for home users at 300 kpbs for unlimited usage. Now they are rolling out in other major cities in India.. How did you miss this engadget ?
"and rather oddly, user selection options for carrier (we thought this was an exclusive?)"
In Europe, while roaming you can select different carriers of the specific country..helps not just in cost but also in selecting strong signal..

"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
