If the Eris is going to be actually released on November 6, and it doesn't seem like Verizon would want to interfere with the much-hyped Droid (Sholes) launch which is also supposed to be in November based on the PR, do we think the Sholes is going to be a November 1st launch? Only a couple days after the announcement on the 28th, but midnight on Halloween does seem like an appropriate time with the scary red eye and all. Maybe we can line up at Verizon stores in costume! What a trick-or-treat!
Making it CDMA on Verizon was the best thing they could have done. The market for a competitive modern smartphone on Verizon is more massive than we can even predict. I have been a Windows Mobile user since WindowsCE on my Compaq Aero through to my TouchPro on Verizon today. It is a joke. Basically everyone I meet who does not have an iPhone is in that position because they are on Verizon and don't want to leave. This may be because of family plans, etc or it may be because they want to actually get signal on their phone. Either way, all these people want a worthwhile smartphone and have been tapping their foot, waiting for Verizon to introduce one. Here it is. Finally. If they had gone GSM on ATT with this, it would have been completely overshadowed by the iPhone and would not have even made a splash. On Verizon, it is top of the line and the obvious choice for any non-Blackberry-fanboy VZW subscriber.

"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
