Actually, it reminds me a lot more of the old HardCard. Wow! a 40 MEGABYTE hard drive on a card! It's sooo much smaller than the MFM drive I have too!
I wonder how long it will stand up to track and field? Especially the 1600m race.

I hope the Dry British Guy reviews it.
According to the data sheet, it's "64-bit proprietary". Ummm... ok. Probably something real secure like XOR.

I also like on the one of the diagrams the X-zone containing some picture of a thong.

So, I guess the real purpose of the drive is to keep people from seeing your pr0n, not for any real security.

The part of the hard drive that controls the motion of the heads is actually called a voice coil. Very similar to the ones in your speakers.
While I agree it will happen eventually (maybe much more than 20 years), there are some hurdles that ebooks/readers need to overcome:

* paper books don't crash
* paper books don't run out of batteries
* I can lend my paper book to a friend without the RIAA/MPAA/etc coming after me
* If I drop my paper book on the ground, it's unlikely to break
* If a wave hits me on the beach and soaks my paper book, I'm only out a few bucks
* I don't have to turn off and stow my paper book during takeoff and landing
200W is about 1/4 hp. You'd need a lot of them. Plus, they'd be generating power by adding drag to the car.

Agreed, you can accomplish the same thing with a projector for much less and not have the annoying gridlines.
Yeah, the people at Gibson are really smoking crack. They're getting paid to license their guitars for the games and have been for some time... Oh wait, what's this patent? Where'd this come from? Let's sue our partners!

It's probably a safe bet now that we will NEVER see any more Gibson guitars on any of these games. I bet Harmonix is happy that they went with Fender! I wonder who Activision will go with next time? PRS?

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
