@Cardbored: I wouldn't say it is sexist. If you base it on the average female, most are more intimidated by technology (or at least NEW technology they have not experienced before) than males are. I'm not pulling this theory out of my ass, I have been working at a large electronics store for more than a year now and I experience this on a daily basis. I am aware there is the occasional woman who is very into new technology, but most aren't. Not sure the exact reason for this... I guess psychology isn't my thing really.
Although the technology serves a very similar purpose to the Wii Remote+Sensor Bar combination, they could probably get the patent by without any problem as it sounds as though the Sony sensor would receive a signal from the controller, where as the Wii Remote works in the opposite way, receiving the signal from the sensor bar.
I love how within 30 seconds all the lights are cut and the bring out the divider wall... that's just sad. Could have put some humour into it Honda, having the audience laugh WITH you instead of AT you.
Sony?? Class?? You've got to be kidding me!
its an Archos AV500... interesting idea, maybe I could use my AV500 in a similar fashion
Hell yes I got a Wii! I've been playing with it for the past two hours, awesome system. Wiisports sucks so far though.
About f*cking time, camping a WEEK in advance is insane, no matter what the console. However, given that the PS3 sucks, that just makes the whole deal that much sweeter. (not to mention, there are other stores besides Best Buy... camp at BB a day in advance unless you see the line is more than 20 people, then head somewhere else)
god I really hope that was sarcasm. If you look at previous set of pics from when the wii was unboxed, you can see it has a power supply that is equally huge on proportion to its console as the 360's power brick is. The power supply is NOT built in.
great job engadget!
960x240??? Holy hell... seems a little wide don't it?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
