Nyko shipping its Rock Band / Guitar Hero III compatible PS3 wireless guitar {Engadget}
Apr 5th 2008 2:31PM Wow, that guitar looks like the product of some future race who has never seen a guitar and tries to reconstruct one from pictographs.
Security Update 2008-002 issues may be cleared up by Rogue Amoeba fix {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 19th 2008 4:49PM I haven't had any problems with ssh since the update, and I'm even using MacFuse to mount a ssh session to a Finder share.
Apple posts AirPort Base Station Update 2008-001 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 11th 2008 7:38PM Definitely not more reliable. Since installing this update, Airport Utility can no longer find either of my Airport Extreme base stations. This is on Leopard 10.5.2.
Of course, I'd have to say that Airport Utility has always been the most unreliable piece of software Apple has made. Base station detection has always been flaky; this update has just made it completely broken.
Steve Jobs dismisses Flash for iPhone {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Mar 6th 2008 3:01AM So many inaccurate statements, including Jobs.
How in fact would Jobs know whether Flash will run on the iPhone? That's Adobe's responsibility, and I think the iPhone is probably up to the task.
Also, all you people who keep talking about Flash ads need to get out of 2001. Flash is used today for many major sites as a compliment to the experience, not a detriment. If you don't like the ads on a particular site, vote with your fingers and write them an e-mail or stop visiting the site. It's not Flash's fault that people abuse the technology.
Location of first Apple Store in China {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Feb 4th 2008 2:08PM You failed to mention that Qianmen Street borders Tiananmen Square. Does Apple not remember that they used the photo of the guy standing in front of the column of tanks during the Tiananmen Square Massacre for their Think Different campaign? Not such rebels anymore, are they?
Steve Jobs tells Apple employees and investors to "hang in there" {Engadget}
Jan 28th 2008 10:56PM If you want to install OS X on your vanilla PC, great, more power to you. But don't boast that you didn't "pay a dime" for Apple software, because you're saying that you pirated OS X. It's cheap, and you couldn't even man up enough to buy a copy of Leopard? That's nothing to brag about.
Official Rock Band premium microphone turns up, still can't save embarrassment {Engadget}
Jan 28th 2008 2:40PM Yeah, I agree. Whereas the original Rock Band mic is a knockoff of a SM57 (which mostly only sees heavy vocal use at live shows...typically it's used more to mic guitar amps), this is a SM58 dynamic mic knockoff which some prefer on vocals. It is a bit warmer than the 57 and has more well-defined upper midrange. Björk uses the SM58 mic almost exclusively, but then again she's Björk.

Jan 14th 2008 1:38PM I wish Apple would make printers again. The world of printers is a world of pain and torment. And a whole lot of ugly.
DroboShare Drobo NAS mini-review {Engadget}
Jan 14th 2008 12:33PM The "ooh it's so shiny!" crowd, I believe. It is a nice piece of kit, and a good choice for a local backup unit, but being a NAS is totally outside its design goal.
