I work for T-mobile in illinois and I can definitely say that this is a huge step for the company. Like other people said, this is what a journalist speculated about this launch. T-Mobile has opened up 3 new stores over the last 2 months in my district, and they have big papa in germany to fund a HSPA network, and they have been launching new towers all the time recently. Its not run by a bunch of monkeys, I sincerly doubt they would launch a whole new company redesign if they didn't have the predicted network strain already calculated. The whole project dark thing is supposed to be the biggest thing at t-mobile in ages, all stores (not just the playground stores with the white t's that say 'hey') are ditching the collared shirts for a dark t-shirt and grey pants too, we just got an email about it.
You can make out the Intel badging on the black netbook. Probably an atom, but I can't imagine how it'll yield 11 hrs.
dear god, this world has become way too friggin politically correct. Let me get this straight, your offended by a word that is only offensive in a different context than engadget is using?

"omg he said gyp! I know what that word means and it wasent used in a racial context but I'm still going to bitch and moan! Lolz!"

Troll.
I'm not sure, but I went to Windsor in Ontario on the 8th and 9th, and everywhere I went the Canadians were stunned by my iPhone. Mine is a bit dinged/scratched up and they were almost offended I didn't take better care of what they thought was the jesus-phone.

(And yes, I went to Windsor for the beautiful scenery, not for the fact that it's drinking age is 19. I swear.)
I didn't know she's dating Ryan Block. Or maybe wikipedia's lying to me.

In any case if he is dating her, defend your woman's honor from the hordes of engadget users!
I think almost anytime of the year is an alright time to buy a laptop. Now, I'm talking about a DECENT laptop.

I've worked at Circuit City as a PC technician for 2 years now and really nice laptops go on sale in February as much as they do in the holiday season. I honestly don't see what people get so worked up over black friday for. It's all junk that's on sale.

I think its just the rush middle-aged people get for getting that 'deal', but in all honestly its not a 'deal' its companies cutting their losses and letting their crap merchandise go at low prices so they can free up inventory space. Last year, we had a piece of junk poloroid camera that was 4 mp, no optical zoom, and was made of plastic that was FREE after rebate on black friday. It was only 30 bucks every other day of the year and I can't remember selling a single one, but on black friday people were going crazy over it.
You i'msickofhearingaboutapplesoi'lljustbitchuntiligetmyway people just don't get it.

I don't own any Apple products and I agree, I get a little bored/annoyed when all I see is apple. I was given the option to opt out and not hear ANYTHING about Apple or the iPhone but I declined. I didn't want to miss out on the actual BIG Apple news, so I chose to deal with it. That was MY choice. You don't hear me complaining.

Seriously, it's like being offered a job, declining, then complaining cause you don't have any money.
Another news flash. Engadget puts out a web site for your enjoyment! You DON'T have to read it!

Why should they have to conform their web site, and what they want to report on, to what a few people think? Oh wait, they offered you an alternative!

http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/20/tired-of-iphone-and-or-apple-news-on-engadget/

And I'll even be generous, it's probably a more than just a few people but seriously, if you don't like seeing so much apple junk, opt out of the rss feeds, send in more interesting tips on stories engadget could cover, or my favorite, shut up.
That must suck having a website put a gun to your head and force you to read everything they post.

Oh, wait, Engadget offers to let you view their site without apple updates. I forgot.

Your just an idiot.
Apparently, he learned his lesson.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
