Hmm. In Ireland this was a regular problem with O2 pcmcia cards - newer versions of software just didn't work or indeed removed functionality that was present in previous versions.

They never bricked the cards though. Just like Sprints software didn't brick their cards.

I find it sad that a blog which uses the word "bricked" to describe iPhones which were irretrievably broken also uses it to describe cards which don't work with a particular version of software.

I hope Sprint doesn't get too upset.
Not quite. They are required to unlock any locked phone after a particular period of time. They can obviously sell an unlocked phone for an extortionate price _but_ if they sell a locked phone they have to unlock it.
The nano video works with the iPod universal dock and the apple av cable (total = 59euro)
Forgot to mention - I'm European so this pricing hurts - 199 bucks is only around 143 euro.
Yet another company who thinks that 199 bucks = 199 euro. What makes it worse is they are a European company.
On the Irish store some items are missing their description page eg the Universal Dock.
@Alan Partridge - in Europe they can legally lock them all they want _but_ they have to unlock the phone after a certain spend.
David (no.3), you should come over here to Europe. We swap SIMs in and out all the time. We leave them in wallets for weeks and then use them. Some daring souls even have little units to copy user data from one SIM to another all without needing tech support. SIMS aren't that fragile - your phone will never get screwed up just by changing SIMs.. It's concealed in that little tray for the sole reason that that is where the contacts are !
~16 - what the hell does Virginia Tech have to do with an article about Apple ?
Re: no.2 - I believe the reference was to the capitalisation of FireSale rather than the use of the term firesale...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
