I can't believe you made a quiche in a pie shell. Next time try making a homemade crust, blind baked in a 3 inch thick ring mold. The taller quiche cooks much better, and the overall taste is 10 times better than a pie shell.

The issue is not verification of voter records or even encryption of the voting data. These are both necessary things, but the real issue is that hackers have the ability to download THEIR OWN version of code to run on the evoting computer. Once you can do this, you invalidate everything else.

How do you solve this problem? Use a secure hardware solution that verifies that downloaded code is encrypted and signed with the correct key. If it isn't, it doesn't run.

You can publish the manuals, source code, encryption method, give access to the entire machine -- in other words be totally open to everyone for hacking. Yet, if they don't have the correct code signing key, nothing will happen. Make the encryption method and key strong enough so that the lifespan of this encryption using current computers is greater the usefulness of the information -- in other words about 6 months.

Back of the envelope power consumption calculation:

30 in LCD uses about 150W. 30in diag is 24x42.7 (if it is 16:9) which is 1025 sq in of area.

70 in LCD is 34.3x61 (assuming 16:9) which is 2093 sq in.

So this equates to something just over 300W of power.

HOWEVER, please note that power consumption for LCD's varies greatly by manufacturer, model and "viewing mode". So you might want to double the estimate for good measure.

Why did Izzie choose Denny over Alex? Denny is a sick puppy who has been manipulating her since the beginning. Alex might be a dog, but at least he is trying to keep things going, despite her behavior towards him. She's been keeping him around as a xxxx buddy. Denny will eventually die, and even if he doesn't, he won't be able for her to ever bonk. The writers have given us both an Alex and an anti-Alex.

Alex's unloading on George made sense at two levels - he was yelling at himself (for being stuck on Izzie, when she wasn't returning his feelings) and he was trying to get George out of his rut. It worked, and it's exactly what the audience wanted to say themselves.

Is everyone living in the past? At least George has moved on.
