Where's the f'n 16GB version Samgsung‽ The HD2 will beat you to the punch (Large capacitive screen vs. on-board storage). But none of you new your arses from your elbows when I've made multiple enquiries, so your loss.

@krische "It's about less hassle". I understand the point you're making, since I ended up buying a Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ after many hassles with a cludged RAID array I built out of old kit I had laying around, with a ATA PCI RAID controller and LOOOOONG ribbon cables snaking out of the back of the machine to an external drive enclosure. Whenever the power would get cut, and the UPS would run out of juice, the array would split, and I've had to restore from backup. Plus there are the hassles of patching/rebooting a Windows box. I just wanted simplicity, and a device that just serves files. BUT! Not only is it about "less hassle", but when I'm getting less in the way of hardware, which this QNAP device is, I expect to pay less, and the $449 is hardly a deal for what you're getting.

I'm relatively disappointed with the 'ad', I mean article...
*sigh*. Nice looking device. Awesome features, and hopefully it will support H.264/MP4. BUT! I can't believe all these handset manufacturers (Particularly HTC) failing when it comes to storage. Phones are at the point were they are combining all of the following:

* Phone
* iPod
* Camera

...And what is required for all these? Storage. Anyone with a sizeable music collection will want to put most/all of it on their device. Anyone like me with say an iPod classic and 32GB+ of music is having to seriously slim down their music, let alone free space for podcasts, pictures, email, etc. The Nokia N97 comes with some descent storage + expansion. The Samsung Omnia II will have some descent storage (When they release the flaming 16GB model!).

So what does the HTC HD2 have? Just micoSDHC for a current max of 16GB (Yawn!) and a probably future max of 32GB. 32GB isn't enough now, let alone a year from now. In the mean time, mobile operators love this because they don't want you carrying your media around. They want you shelling out to stream content over their ludicrously priced data plans. *sigh*.
Actually, this is the phone I'm waiting for. Just get your heads out of your @$$es Samsung and get the damned 16GB version out already..
*sigh*. Microsoft late to the game, as always. A follower not a leader. I'm not a hater here, just calling it like it is. The time of single function DAPs, etc is coming to an end. I don't want to carry a DAP and phone and camera any more. It's 2009. Where is my single device with:

* At least 32 GB of capacity
* The option of a hardware on on screen keyboard
* Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
* 3 MP camera
* Flash support in the browser
* Widely available (As in not just in the US or Europe or Asia)
* Not lame (Lookin at you iPhone/HTC T-Mobile G1)

...Yeah, I'm lookin at you Nokia N97. But you're not available yet, AND you'll cost the Earth, AND I tested a Nokia 8500 today, and if my user experience is the same on an N97, you will get thrown out the window.
This would have been my next phone, but they just couldn't put a 3.5mm Philips jack on it, could they...
Grrr...Skip the slide-out buttons and give me a slide-out keyboard!!!
No thanks HP, you liars!!! - http://www.hplies.com/
The United States is now a third world country. This explains all.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
