Too expensive to buy, but totally worth a post for.
If lenovo would just stick a real graphics card in these things they would dominate the market. I've had two T30's (one linux) and a T60p and I will keep going back, but I cant do integrated graphics :( :(
lol over 11,000 comments, I like my chances of getting aids better :p
Good luck in your future ventures. Despite the fact that this is random, I must say that I would probably find the new things that I could use that I dont currently have (like the livecam to make an ir webcam), and then give the rest to friends or save them for lans when I know people will forget stuff.
If you have money to shell out, Thinkpads are the way to go. I had one for 4 years (ye old T30) and I was so happy with that one that I got another one (T60p) and gave that one to my mother. They are tough reliable machines and once you start using the nub/eraser head you will never go back. Get the right warranty and you can drop it twice and have it fixed for free. Best of all thinkpads can run linux out of the box or you can just wait until yours gets old and then install linux on it. They are pricey but IMO very worth it. I personally cant stand small keyboards and low rez screens so I find it hard to recommend these newfangled E things, but if you want something for just web and dont plan on doing anything else (serious research and wordprocessing, image editing, etc) then you'll probably be ok, but a MID might be a better way to go if thats all you want. I might see myself using a netbook if I installed ubuntu on it so I could have my 8 desktops to make up for the very small screen size, but under no circumstances would I get something with a screen that small that ran XP. XP works much better at higher rez if you are working with multiple windows at the same time.
You realize that google is going to sue for this because they have already trained their pigeons to power their search engines by pecking. If apple uses them for voice dial they will be toast.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
