What version of Ubuntu are they running? The Intel graphics drivers were atrocious in 9.04 but have improved somewhat in 9.10. Scrolling performance in particular has seen a huge improvement.

Actually I don't think that Verizon has a 5GB cap in writing anywhere. If there's a cap, it's a soft cap.

So how fast is their WiMAX service?
Because different number changes (usually) imply different types of changes. When you have an x.x.1 change, it's typically a bug fix whereas an x.1 change typically means new features.
