i think this will be about as effective as making 'weekend' and 'hamburger' illegal in french. you can't rein in language. they may take our longhand but they'll never take away our freedom to write iDiosynCraticaLly!
down with the 12inch netbookers! Long live the 12 inch notebookers! Follow the Gourd!
There's no such thing as an "acer 11.6 atom Zxx CPU 768p laptop" ! That would be quite the deal alright. Latest deal from Costco: Nonexistence computers!
well this is just fantastic. the vast paraplegic pianists association will be simply overjoyed.
you make smarter remarks than Wired :) !!!
hey, at least the dude's proposal is good looking. these are for kids right? what's with the slate-grey case? do the intel designers decide, 'right, I think we'll make it the same color as the exterior wall of our office building. I love that color, and I bet kids do too' ? At least the XO green case isn't instantly depressing... but do you really need to go to MIT to be able to spot that?
agreed - that's what i was thinking: if this sells for 200$, and you can hop it off the wall or submerge it in water without hurting its feelings, i'll buy one and take it with me on camping trips. otherwise, er... i guess this was designed by some really tubby oblivious designer?
well, that's all jolly fine, but really I think we can all spot that this is alot more than a navigation system for cars. this is a surveillance system. and, what do you think happens if the EU and the US have a military conflict of interests? the US will be like "here, use our surveillance system to undermine our own military manouevers, knock yourselves out"... I don't think so.
I don't know about this. Ireland also voted against Estonia and Latvia and the others joining - and so everyone was like "fuck you Ireland, we just gave you a shitload of money, and now you won't let others join in!" But the fact was that this wasn't why Ireland didn't vote for it at all - it was because there was a bill attached to the referendum that seemed to suggest Ireland would lose control of its defense forces. There was a rumor going around to that effect at the time, and the government did nothing to explain what was actually going on. They held the referendum again a year later, this time properly clarifying everything, and Ireland voted yes. It had nothing to do with voting against Estonia and Latvia. So, maybe something similar was going on in spain...
i have to say the first thing that occurs to me to do if I saw one of these pricks rolling around town would be to push it over. we have enough fascists walking the streets with truncheons and badges. now we're going to let our washing machines police us too?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
