2 Hours? At 300mph, it should take well under 1 hr!
How many successful and stable open source apps are there? And how long did the stable ones take to become stable? One of the few successful, well known ones I can think of is Firefox. Even at that, there are MANY people whose never heard of it. Failures? Open office. It has been in development FOREVER and 99.99% of people who KNOWS of Open Office still use MS Word.

You gotta remember, most people can't unlock an iphone even w/ a 3 step guide. Your sisters, girlfriends, parents, and business friends won't know how to upgrade this Android thing-of-a-jigga.

But if Android ever does succeed, its going to take more a few years. By then, many things would have changed. Bottom line is, most people would like to just use their phone, not constantly tinker with it.

I too wish I was filthy poor. ... sigh.. one can only dream..
It lasts ONLY 10^(-15) seconds.

At 300*10^(12) Watts for 10^(-15) seconds, it uses up 0.3 Joules.

This is equivalent to a 60W lightbulb being turned on for 0.05 seconds.
Comment above typed from my iPhone.. while taking a crap.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!
The list is ranked in the order of traffic, not by engadget's favorite. This means that this is due to people like YOU and me, not engadget.

There could be 5 posts per minute about microsoft's zune or vista but I'm willing to bet its not going to get nearly as much traffic. Apple has done it right this year with their ass kicking products (take a look at their stock. Jobs may be an ass to you but he's made me a lot of money).

Again, this list isn't based on the number of posts from engadget's writers BUT on interest from people like me and YOU.

Don't hate on engadget; they just report the latest and hotest gadgets out -- like what they are supposed to do.
For the life of me, I CAN NOT SHARE AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE!

In tiger, I had to use sharepoints. In leopard, sharepoints don't work!

The external drive is mounted on the G5 and I am able to access it, so no problems with the drive itself. I see that it is 'shared' under SystemPreferences>sharing, but I can not see it through my macbook, macbook pro, or PC!

I AM however, able to share a drive that is INSIDE the G5. Just not one connected externally.

This is one MAJOR flaw! I figured they'd make sharing and 'map network drive' much easier in leopard.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
