"One interesting option I noticed was the disk format menu (Figure 4). By default, the mini's internal disk is formatted in a least-common-denominator format of FAT32 so it can be directly accessed when USB-plugged into a Windows, Macintosh, or Linux system. But one downside to FAT32 is a file size limitation of 2GB."

Hmm. So, if you need files over 2GB, you have to format away from FAT32 to ext3 no doubt. Mmm - tricky for using the USB then on Windows (and possibly Macs)...

Bit of a dopey f*cker if he's been sticking to a PC just to use that ordinary software. Has he even bothered to look for sound editing software on a Mac. It's certainly appears that he has kept his eyes firmly shut.
Apple have been advertising heavily on the scaffolding panels there since I came to NYC in June!

You really can't miss it - it's f*cking gigantic.
Perhaps the 200GB drive reads more per revolution, due to data density, so the 4200rpm comments may be off the mark.....?
#18 Yes, you can buy the 200GB drives around, but they are *very difficult* to find.

Here's a UK site with a section dedicated to the devices:

Own a Core Duo Macbook or Macbook Pro? Today's news got you down? Try the following upgrade for immediate joy:

Go get a 7200rpm SATA drive for your baby and watch it fly.....

In real terms I don't find my 2ghz CD Macbook much slower than my 24" C2D iMac. Can't say I am bothered about much of today's news.

Fujitsu Mobile MHV2200BT SATA-150 (200gb, 4200rpm, 8mb)
Toshiba MK2035GSS SATA-150 (200gb, 4200rpm, 8mb)

One of these most likely.
Ben,

No such problem on any of my machines since the very first video version. (G4 Mac Mini, Macbook, 24 iMac).
"With the UK banning nearly all portable electronics in the passenger cabin of airplanes"

Um, not quite. No restrictions on electronics anymore.
My first experience with Apple was quite good with wait time of around 10 mins. Sadly the problem I was having (MacBook LEAP is broken)and they couldn't really do anything for me. The tech was generally *very* helpful, until she ran out of knowledge base entries to work from.

I've since had a power supply issue, and waited 13 mins on hold before a very helpful guy sorted everything out for me. Replacement arrived next day.

All good for Apple
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
