I've just ordered mine - a DEXT, from Orange UK. Thanks for all the info! Helped me choose my first smartphone.

One oddity in your review:
"the strangest capacitive screen we've ever used, because it feels... well, resistive."

According to this review, that's because it is... well, resistive:

Is that perhaps the Guardian... getting it wrong?
"speaking about the final solution, William Eaves..."

Great choice of words...
excellent, same principle as in my HX espresso machine - but now I would have to descale my plughole...
Damn, I read that as "samsung-papyrus-e-book-reader-on-track-for-koran-launch..."

Which would be way cooler.
BT Vision's FREE DTR/DVR combo box (really philips' doing) - go UK!
Oh, and can someone please explain to kev the difference between copyright infringement and theft? I'm sure we've been over this...
And if you are using a filing cabinet...

no, wait, if so, you're probably not quite "surfing the 'net" yet.
No, have full and on-access scanning for all my drives - which tells me I'm not one of those with an unexpected lucky extra on my maxtor.
I have this exact drive!
But also AVG.
So, not a problem.
I have that exact drive!
But, also have v uptodate AVG.
so, no problems there, then.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
