Get off you immanence high, dude. There are plenty of non-mil/gov't industries ready and waiting for super durable high speed machines they can toss in the trunk/boot of the car. When folks like you use words like 'never' little lights on our indicator screen light up, dig? You don't want to do that.
PND stands for 'Personal Navigation Device'. Thanks Engadget.
Let's set up a new rule:
If the reporter posts a 'report' it must have at least one pertinent photo, or the reporter must, in the 'report', apologize and explain why he/she couldn't complete the job. Engadget is encouraging lousy journalism behavior. Stop it. If nothing else, give us links to photos that pertain to the 'report'. Stop giving journalism work to gadget freaks who can barely write. Use real journalists, like big professional companies do.
Evidently everybody posting to this knows exactly what a 'whip' is. Why don't you go ahead and be a real journalist and tell the rest of us what the beep a 'whip' is? I know, that would be like, professional and all. Take the medicine with the message. No more incompetent writers, please!
People with brains often use systems that work, and modify them to work again for the chosen purpose. Ever seen a jet land on an aircraft carrier? It uses a hook. Maybe a one-time use spy plane would have some kind of plastic-metal inductance net it would cast and possibly hang from power lines by; would cut away from the net to finish the tasks. Certainly, the US military/FBI/CIA/ETC would never use it on citizens of the US. ;)
We're looking at smart power leeches in their infancy. In time they'll have no trouble getting power from almost anything with power: street lights, heat sources, coin operated devices, etc. We may also see a responding rise in shotgun sales.
I'm agreeing that the weight of the parts is going to be tough on such a thrust system. You might want/need to drop 'em from high above. If they're manageable indoor then they don't go very fast. If they don't go very fast they need larger wingspan, etc. Maybe they attach to small helium balloon buoyed cargo. Hope to hear more about this development.
That's it?? No actual copy on the matter?? Beep.
Talk to us, MyVu. Tell us when we can expect HD specs from you. Glad you're tuned into the concept of situational awareness. I find I do want to look at other things even mid movie. No more VGA! Get to work!
I think this is a dead end path.
I'm very doubtful that two full quality images can be displayed separately on one screen viewed by two different personal video device wearers. I hope to be proved wrong. Lower quality images would still be of use in international and other settings.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
