It is a shame to see the Magnum go, but I cant say that about the Crossfire. If I had to guess they arer axeing the Magnum due to cannibalization from the Charger and for capacity issues for the new Challenger. What they dont understand is the Magnum appeals to a broader audience by offering a muscle appearance, 4 doors, and a wide range of suitable powertrain options. The Challenger is hot but has a very focused audience.
Its nice to see Leica glass in DSLR format but its really a shame its not on a full frame CMOS camera to take advatage of it. The 4/3 format drives me crazy. Nothing like only using half the lens surface, mirror and sensor being nearly half the size. I would really hesitate putting tons of money into a lens system that is not necessarily as established or as mainstream as Canon or Nikon.
Drooling.. but seriously $37,000!!?? If I ever have a client requesting wall murals or billboards I'll drop a couple hundred dollars to rent one. I would imagine most pros would be in the same boat. I dont know anyone who could justify that, and if anyone other than maybe Annie Leibowitz is charging clients $15,000 a day thinks WAY to highly of themselves.
Rolling my eyes at this one. Come on Olympus, bring something competitive to the table!! Autofocus speed is great, but what about the construction, durability, and ergonomics? You are just now putting 11 AF points in your top of the line body while everyone else has had that or more for years!? This goes to show their highest reaching customers are pro-amateurs...uninformed ones at that.
I dont understand why anyone would invest their money into a 12megapixel point & shoot other than to be the "cool kid on the block." When it comes down to it there is no glass in the world that size (3/4 of an inch diameter?)that can really take full advantage of a true 12 megapixel sensor (not going into the small sensor issue and interpolation). Canon makes great equipment, just dont waste your money so you can have more pixels than you need.
Its great that they have finally released something competitive in the high end pro market, but I think its "too little, too late" at this point. As their flagship SLR I would expect something slightly more competitive with the 1ds Mark III. Instead they come out with something to compete with the 5D but $2000 more. We'll have to wait and see if they have a surprise up their sleeves.
Yeah we will just have to wait and see. I still wont ever be able to justify $8000 for my use. The largest print I have ever had requested is a 40x60 for a mural in a corporate office. My 5D with the 85mm F1.2L II suited me just fine. I dont think the majority will be using all 21 megapixel but who knows. Some people buy the latest and greatest simply for status or whatever so they can say they shoot with the best.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
